Chapter Twelve The Love Note I was sitting in my usual pew waiting for morning service to begin and wondering why Mother Superior wanted to meet with me in her office later when Father Joseph, a young Priest I barely knew or talked to, walked up the center aisle of the chapel and passed a folded and sealed envelope to me. No one saw him do it. Father Joseph was the first person I met at St. Sebastian. Mother Superior was sick on the day of my initial visit and the young Priest was assigned to give me a tour of the Mission. He conveyed several interesting anecdotes regarding the historical significance of the California Mission and showed me around the grounds. On first impression, he was a shy, soft spoken man. Although I found him to be very nice, two particularly odd things happened.
