Ethan didn’t want to keep anything from Lily anymore.
He’d already made up his mind that today would be the day he revealed everything to her. She would finally know the truth about who he was, his past, and why he’d kept so much hidden from her.
‘Soon,’ he thought, ‘we will have no secrets between us.’
But just as he was about to walk over to her, his phone buzzed in his pocket. Glancing down, he saw it was an urgent call from one of his subordinates.
He hesitated for a moment, debating whether to ignore it but his instincts told him it was urgent.
He stepped away from the door, turning his back slightly as he took the phone to his ear.
The voice on the other end was tense and the news made Ethan grit his teeth.
Someone was trying to harm Lily's family.
