Chapter Eleven: my girl

1814 Words
“Babe, where are you at?”, Arnold asked on the phone while Rose was at her home. There were voices and music heard in the background, so he must be out. Rose assumed. “First, I’m not your babe and second, at home revising class as you should be too.” “What’s wrong with you? It’s the first month of our first semester, and you’re already studying?”, he said confused, “this is the time for all the college parties.” “Well, unlike you, I care about my future and my grades plus I don’t have rich parents, so I can’t lose my job too”, Rose snapped. “I can learn that stuff on Sunday”, he said lazily and Rose could literally picture his shrug. “That is just procrastination”, she called him out. “Anyway, I’m picking you up in half an hour. We’re going to a frat party. Have you even been to a frat party until now?”, he asked. “Uh, yes? Three, I think”, Rose said and then remembered the first part of his sentence, “wait, I can’t get ready that quickly. Who do you think I am? Flash?” “Well, either be fast or you’re going naked. I don’t care”, he said, and hung up before you could protest. “Jackass”, she cursed, before she rushed into the bathroom to get ready. In an unbelievable pace, she styled her hair applied make-up, put on black skinny jeans and combined that with a white crop top with a v neckline adorned with lace. Just as you finished putting lip balm on her lips, the doorbell rang. She rushed downstairs and opened the door. Good thing that your parents were still gone. “You look great, babe”, Arnold said taking in her appearance with his eyes and put his arm around her to pull her to him and press a kiss to her temple. “Even though I would have enjoyed seeing you naked a little more”, he said smirking. “Stop that”, Rose complained pushing him off, “What?!, it’s not like I have seen you nake-” “Shut up, and I’m not your girlfriend”, she shut him by putting a hand on his mouth. “I wouldn’t agree to that”, he said c*****g an eyebrow and Rose wasn’t sure what exactly he meant, “get in the car.” “You’re unbelievable”, she mumbled and got in on the passenger side, “so whose party is this and where are we going?” “The fraternity of economic sciences is throwing the party”, he said, starting the engine, “and the rest is a surprise.” “I don’t like surprises”, she rumbled, checking Arnold out in secret. He looked as hot as always: black leather jacket, ebony hair pushed back, raven shirt and ripped jeans, “relax”, he said chuckling and turned left, “just know that you’ll be able to strike a few goals off your naughty list.” His implication didn’t really put Rose at ease, it rather incited her nervousness even more. Because some things were way out of her comfort zone,, and she wasn’t sure if she was ready for them yet. But she trusted Arnold with choosing what was good for her. It might sound crazy, but that’s how much she actually confided in him. At least she wasn’t on her period anymore, which would make countless things easier and more comfortable for her. “But if you’re driving there who’s going to drive back?”, Rose asked after a short silence, “you’ll be too drunk to drive.” “Hm, we’ll see about that”, Arnold said rolling down the window and resting his arm on the driver’s door, “just go with the flow.” “Just go with the flow”, she aped him,, and he shook his head at her up tightness. But she decided not to worry about it right now. She rolled down her window as well and stuck out her head, letting the wind play with her loose hair. It was the beginning of September and still pretty warm outside, just a promising, tepid late summer evening. Rose was warm enough with a light jacket for later, when it would get cooler. “We’re already there”, Arnold informed her and pulled up at the roadside parking the car. Rose was a little surprised since it had been only a five-minute-long car drive, but she went with it. The frat house just must be nearby. She got out of the car and followed Arnold, or rather the sound of the loud music. She walked up to a modern mansion with a big front yard which was crowded with people either playing drinking games or chatting. “How can a fraternity afford such a house?”, she asked astonished. Rose was a little intimidated by the number of people and made sure she stayed close to Arnold. “Rich parents”, he said shrugging, entering the garden. The music was buzzing louder in your ears with every step you came closer. “You are saying like you don’t have rich parents Mr. Born with a golden spoon,” Rose said dramatically. “Well he doesn’t have a stepmother and 2 ass step-brother, so he has better than me”, Arnold replied. “Whatever, Jasmine is so sweet. She’s nicer to you than my real mother is to me. And yeah, one of your brother is a complete ass. No doubt. But Bennett loves you. Change your feelings for them, Arnie”, Rose tells him with a warm smile. “I will try, no promise”, Arnold replies. The surrounding students were holding red cups and talking or doing stupid drunk things. It was already darkening outside, but it didn’t slow down the party because the whole house was lit up and bathed the huge front yard in light. But Rose was going inside. “Try not to get lost”, Arnold said loudly against the music. Easier said than done. The party was so crowded that she had to squeeze her way through the party guests. After a while of nudging and squishing, she reached the kitchen. Arnold grabbed two clean shot glasses and filled them with some kind of amber liquor. “Tonight we’re getting drunk”, he said handing Rose the glass and tilting his head back downing his shot at once. Rose wanted to say something, but he just grabbed the bottle of liquor, turned around and left. She quickly ran after him to wherever he was headed to trying not to get pushed and spill the liquid all over her hand. She reached a room which looked like a big living room furnished with a few long couches and armchairs. He made his way over to a group of boys and girls sitting in a circle either on the floor or on a couch. One armchair was still unoccupied. “Hey, man! Arnieee, what took you so long?”, a bawling voice called, and a few boys got up to greet him with a handshake. “This girl”, he said pointing at Rose and all eyes landed on her making her blush, “my girl. ” What did he just say? Arnold never introduced Rose as his girl. “Everyone this is ROSE, ROSE this is everyone”, he introduced his friends to her in a very effective way. “Hi”, Rose breathed feeling pretty stupid standing there still holding the shot glass in her right hand. Arnold made his way through the circle and plopped down on the free seat on the armchair. He looked at her expectantly and she weren’t exactly sure what he meant. “Do you want to root or are you coming over here to sit?”, he asked, arching an eyebrow and Rose went over to him, so she wasn’t in the center of attention anymore. When she was in front of him he looped his arm around her waist and pulled her down, making her sit between his thighs. Her legs were hanging over the armrest on one side and her back was leaning against the other side. Rose was still taken aback by the way he introduced her. She had gone to several parties with him already, but he never acted so protective of her. “Loosen up”, Arnold whispered into her ear, “it’s not your first time drinking. And if I’m telling you that you’ll want to be drunk for what I’ve planned, I mean it.” Rose gave him a shocked look. He rolled his eyes and took the shot from you putting it to her lips. “Drink up”, he said tipping the glass, forcing her to tilt her head back and open her mouth to gulp down the bitter alcohol, so it wouldn’t slop all over her shirt. It spread a warm feeling throughout her whole body. She hissed because of the burning taste in her throat and licked her lips. She glared at him but didn’t say anything. His hand was resting protectively on the small of her back and she knew he wasn’t going to let anything happen to her here. Rose relaxed a little and wandered her gaze over the people sitting in the circle. So these must be the boys from college he was always hanging out and blundering with. They were actually pretty nice and fun to be around. She thought. Rose played a hilarious drinking game and her glass was refilled too many times. She even spotted two girls from her course and beckoned them over. She had a great time and soon enough she found herself giggling drunkenly on his lap. “Are you having a good time?”, he asked, murmuring into her ear. His breath fanned over her neck and she could smell the liquor on it. “Mhm, I’m having a fantastic time”, Rose hummed, enjoying the feeling of him being so close to her and his hand firmly gripping your waist. It turned her on. “Well, the real fun is about to start”, he said smirking and motioned to a person whose name Rose learned was Jack. “It’s time”, he said and Jack’s eyes visibly brightened in joy and excitement. “Everyone, gear up! Get ready for the real party event”, he said loudly standing up, “we’re going skinny-dipping!” Wait, what?! ♡
