Chapter Nine

Evangeline opened the smoker to find her roast smelling delicious and mouth watering. She checked the baked potatoes to find they were ready and looking rather tasty. As Evangeline started preparing the vegetables, Philip walked in the door. "It looks like everyone is headed this way for dinner." Philip said as he nodded towards the window. Drinks are in the kitchen at the bar. Feel free to help yourself, mix is in the fridge on the bottom shelf." Evangeline said as she headed back to pour herself a drink. I wonder where that man is. He should've been here by now. Evangeline took her drink and headed out on her deck to see if he was walking through the yard. "Evangeline! Are we ready to eat?" The evening was filled with dinner, drinks and large amounts of laughter between everyone. John hadn't showed up the entire night but everyone was sure they'd see him the next morning at the earliest.
