When The Fire Burns Cold

Preface

    Life is never effortless, especially when you are young, and it's your first time stepping out into the big full world. I just a young twenty-year-old kid when I met him, he was a man well past the young wild and reckless days, but he intrigued me. I was usually not one to believe in love at first sight until I looked at him and knew that one way or another, he was going to wind up being the best damn thing to ever happen to me. 

   Under any normal circumstances, a woman as young as I was when I met him would not stand a chance with a middle-aged man looking to settle down and enjoy life and the little things it had to offer. However, from the start, things between him and were never normal but that was life and we both had accepted that long before we ended up where we are. For better or for worse he is the love of my life.
