Chapter 10

Heaven's pov

I woke up to the sound of the alarm on my bedside table,shut if off it's Monday today and I'm starting work at Steel Engineering as the CEO's personal assistant.I jolted from bed,made my bed then went to the bathroom.I did my routine then came back to my bedroom again to pick out my outfit for today.I opened my worbrobe,picked up a black pencil skirt which reaches above my knees,long sleeved red blouse,black blazer and 3inch black pointed heels.

I could feel my own heart beating loud because I'm really nervous, I calmed myself down then did my make up which consists of foundation, mascara and red matte lipstick,tied my long hair in a low ponytail.

After preparing for today,I went to the kitchen to eat my breakfast with my mom.

"Good morning mom"I side hugged her

"Morning sweetheart,are you ready for today"

"Yes mom I am,just feeling a little bit nervous" I said as I took a spoonful of my cereal after sitting down in kitchen high bar stool

"That's understandable baby but knowing you, you'll do well" she smiled

"Thanks mom you always know what to say and when to say it" I grabbed her hand which was on top of the counter and squeezed it gently

We ate our cereal in silence after breakfast I took my black hand bag said goodbye to mom,then headed straight to the bus stop.Once seated I checked time on my phone and saw that it's 07:20 am and I'm needed at work by 8am,I did a silent prayer hoping that I make it on time.

Getting off the bus stop, walking to this huge, magnificent,all glass building still amazes me how exactly I got an opportunity to work for a well established company like this in our City.

With that thought I went inside the building,going straight to the receptionist who greeted me with a smile,I smiled back did the formalities,the receptionist told me to go to elevator B,press 20th floor and that's exactly what I did.

Now I'm standing in 20th floor, standing, looking everything in awe, looking at the creame tiled floor,white painted walls, paintings on the walls, painting I didn't understand?,the large porcelain vases by the corner filled with different flowers, bringing the room to live.

"Excuse me"I snapped my head to the voice only to find a lovely,good looking female with bright blue eyes looking right at me.

"Good morning"I greeted shyly

"I am Sheila" she said offering me her hand for a handshake

"Pleasure to meet you Sheila, I'm Heaven Platinum"I introduced myself taking her hand and shaking it

"I was expecting you Heaven,you look beautiful by the way"She commented,I blushed to her words

"Okay Heaven let's get down to business,I am the secretary of the CEO ,what's going to happen now is that I'll show you to your office,show you how you're supposed to do your job,introduce you to the different departments managers" she said in one breath .

"Okay thanks but I thought I'll meet with the CEO first" I said with confusion laced in my eyes.

Sheila laughed then said

"Oh you will my darling around lunch time as you'll be accompanying him to his next meeting around 1pm"

"Okay" I said feeling a little bit of relief that I won't be meeting the CEO while I'm this nervous.

Sheila started by showing me my office which is three doors away from CEOs office,my office looks lovely,it has a brown plush desk,swivel chair, it's painted in light gray, has paintings hanging on the wall,has a huge ceiling to floor glass windows I couldn't be happier.

"I take it you like your office" Sheila said as she smiled up at me

"More like love it"

"It's beautiful and it smells amazing too" I said looking at Sheila who then continued to smile and nodded

"I'm glad you do Heaven,come on now let me introduce you to the managers" She said as she led the way and I following behind.

Sheila introduced me to the managers,all were smiling at me,some even complimented me saying that I'm beautiful,or I have a beautiful set of dark brown chocolatey eyes,I thanked them with a smile plastered on my lips.She taught me how to take notes during meetings of which I'm really greatful for as I would not like making mistakes in the long run.

"It's almost noon darling, it's time for you to meet the CEO, you'll go to his office,ask him what he prefers to eat today but most importantly you'll be briefing him about his next meeting in an hour"

"what now Sheila? I'll be doing the briefing as it's my first day working here" I said panicking on the inside

"Heaven relax , you'll do great,take it as a light test to test yourself if whether you still need a little bit more of training or not" she said encouragingly

"Okay let's do it"

I then went to washroom to re-touch my makeup,then went to my good smelling office which is three doors away from my boss's office, speaking of boss I wonder what he's like.

Without wasting time I went straight to my boss's door with a pen and notepad on my other hand, I knocked two times as I waited for access to enter.
