Selene
The candlelight threw his face into shadowed relief, and I was at first struck by how handsome and how young he was. But I knew that that was an illusion, because angels and demons did not age. But just which one was this guy? I had a distinct feeling that I would soon find out.
A silver covered lunch was waiting for us on the table, and he said, "Please sit down, Selene. We have much to talk about."
I didn't want to sit down, but something in his obsidian eyes made me sit, and despite myself, I was curious. I saw his face more clearly, and I saw much sadness in his deceptively young face, but also, the man radiated power like an aura about him. I uncovered my plate, and it was shrimp scampi. Wow.
I began to eat delicately, and I noticed that he only drank merlot out of a crystal glass, which was odd. "You must have many questions for me," It was not a question.
I sipped my water, and cleared my throat. "Yes. Who are you, and why are you in my dreams?"
A smile flashed across his face. "I'm surprised you ask about my name rather than ask who else follows you in your dreams."
I shrugged my shoulders, and gestured for him to go on. "Well, my name is Sariel, and I'm your protector, but you also know who I am to you, deep down."

Sariel drained his glass of wine, and nodded, approvingly. "The direct approach. I like it. Very well. Finish up your lunch, and I will show you. I think it is better than explaining it, because I have been waiting a long time for you. More than you will ever know. But I fear that my Over Lord wants you just as much, and he won't stop until he has you for himself."
I didn't like where this was going, but since I agreed to hear him out, I was willing to listen to this c**k and bull story. I was only missing orientation, no big deal, right? I ate my lunch, which was delicious, by the way, and set it aside. My mysterious guardian, or whoever he was, took my hands in his, and said, "Close your eyes."
I did, and from the time my eyes closed, until they opened again, I was told much more than I wanted to know, but afterwards, I went down to my orientation much changed, and with a better idea of who I was, and what my powers were, but I was also left with dreams that made me cry more often than not, and it wouldn't be the first time that my protector would have to come and soothe my nightmares away...
