35 Saxon After breakfast, I plonk the bag of supplies from Elgee on the kitchen table. I unpack it as Manny watches on. The air is thick with tension, but I refuse to break it. Part of me is still mad at him for keeping the truth about our parents from me. The other part is mad at myself for accepting their deaths were an accident and not looking into it sooner. I should have known better. ‘Saxon, just stop for a moment, please.’ Manny’s words cut through the cloud of animosity. I pause, but don’t look up.
