39 Saxon As a young boy, I travelled with my parents to Middtown on occasion. It was such a thrill to watch the landscape blur by from inside the solar-powered vehicle. Few people ever get to travel in such a style. But that drive was only a couple of hours. There was never a need to sleep out in the open wastelands like we have to on this trip. I’ve slept outdoors under the night sky at home before. Once, when my parents were away working, Rudolph came to stay and showed Manny and me how to make a campfire.
