I follow Constance through the backyard as she storms toward the back door.
‘Manny, where are you?’ Constance yells, entering the kitchen.
He emerges from their bedroom. ‘I’m right here. Is somethin’ wrong with the baby?’
Constance waves him off. ‘The baby’s fine. It’s your brother.’
‘Saxon? What’s he done now?’
‘What else did he say Rudolph told him?’
Manny looks at the ground and tugs on his ear.
‘Manny, my love,’ she says through gritted teeth. ‘Just tell me.’
‘Rudolph said the Agents are lookin’ for ramblers, and that we should be careful.’
‘But you didn’t think that was worth mentioning when I told you I was going into town.’
‘You didn’t take Kerina, did yer?’
‘Of course, I did!’
