THE JOURNEY BEGINS

Raven's POV “Hands up!” the one with the pistol warned. “Now give us all your money! Everything!” the second order, while the third stood there, as if he wasn’t part of them. “Yes,” I answered, walking toward my drawer as the one with the pistol fixed it on my head, my arms still raised. Fucking assholes. I’ll use this to train myself for the journey tomorrow. They came robbing with just one gun? This must be their first, and I’ll make it their last. “It’s inside this drawer,” I said. “Bring it out! You think we’re here to play?” he yelled. I placed my hands toward the drawer, then quickly shifted, using my elbow to strike his hand. The pistol fell, which I swiftly picked up and aimed at them. “Cool move,” the one with the gun earlier said, walking closer to me. He pressed his forehead against the pistol. “Shoot! Shoot, you b***h,” he spat, fearlessly. The guts! I don't think there is a bullet in here. “You’re so pathetic! Give us the money and stop displaying madness!” the second said. “Let’s see about that,” I said, pulling out another pistol from my pocket and sending a bullet straight into the one who fixed his head forward. He fell to the ground, his body going limp. Seeing this, the other two froze in fear. “Please… please… we didn’t mean to,” one of them begged. “Of course you meant to,” I said, motioning my gun straight at him. “You need money, right?” I asked. “No… no,” they pleaded. “Get him out of here before I finish what I started!” I warned them, signaling to their dead ally. They quickly dragged the body away and ran out. “Assholes,” I exclaimed, staring at the pool of blood already on my floor. I took my mop and began cleaning the floor, then I locked my door. I went back to my laptop. “Should I even bother researching werewolves? That’s of no use to me, because no matter what, Alpha Lucien will surely be dead,” I said as a smirk curled on my lips. I glanced at the card with the address description. “You’ll lead me to my freedom,” I muttered. I took out my bag, walked to my wardrobe, and began arranging a few clothes. I arranged what I wanted to wear tomorrow for the journey: a black trouser, black jacket, then a black scarf for my neck. I took my boots, fixed two mini blades into them, and slid two pistols into the hidden parts of my jacket. “Perfect,” I exhaled. I took out my leftover pizza and grabbed a drink from my fridge. After eating, I collapsed onto my bed. “I need to sleep on time to wake up on time,” I whispered. I stretched, took my alarm, and fixed the time. “This will wake me up,” I muttered as I drifted off. DRI! DRI!! My alarm rang. “It’s time already?” I muttered as I wiped my eyes for a better view. I glanced at the screen. “4 a.m. already,” I exhaled as I rose to my feet, grabbed my robe, and dashed into the bathroom. After showering, I stepped out, applied cream to my body, then got dressed. I grabbed my bag, glanced at the screen; it was 5 a.m. I slid my phone, lots of cash, and the address card into my bag. I went to my fridge, took the remaining two pizzas and two drinks, then shut the fridge door. I made my way to my car and drove out. Following the map, I drove deep into the road. When it was noon, I pulled over, ate lunch, and rested briefly before continuing my journey until it was late. I stopped at a supermarket to get something else to eat. Arriving there, I got a burger and a drink, paid, and returned to my car. “I need to find somewhere to pass the night,” I muttered while driving. I sighted an elegant hotel. Hell no. They won’t even approve me without my ID card. I drove further and came across a small motel. “I’ll manage this for tonight,” I whispered as I pulled in and parked in an available space. I placed the leftover burger and drink into my bag, slid out of the car, and walked in with my bag slung over my shoulder. “Welcome to Blissful Motel,” the receptionist greeted, smiling. “I need a room for the night,” I replied sharply. I wasn’t here for pleasantries. “Two grand,” she answered. “Fine,” I said, reaching into my bag for cash. “Okay ma’am, may I have your swipe card and ID card?” she asked calmly. ID card here? “My ID card isn’t with me. I can pay three grand extra, making it five grand,” I offered, my voice cold as I met her gaze. Her smile widened. “I understand, but this stays between the two of us.” I pulled out the cash, counted five grand, and placed it on the counter. She typed into the system and set a key down. “Room nine,” she said. I took the key, found the door, slipped it into the lock, and the door creaked open. I stepped inside and shut it behind me. The room was small, and so was the bed. “Not worth the pay at all,” I sighed, scanning the room. What else could I expect from an underdeveloped motel? I placed my bag on the small stand beside the bed. “It’s been a hectic day,” I exhaled, collapsing onto the bed. I need to freshen up for a good night’s rest. Tomorrow will be hectic too, I’ll make it to the pack. I headed into the bathroom, showered quickly, then returned to bed in my underwear. I took out my burger and drink and had them before drifting off.
