As they rushed out of the park, Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. What had Ryder's friend found? And why did they have to leave so suddenly?
Ryder's expression was grim, and he didn't say a word as they walked to the car. Emily tried to ask him questions, but he just shook his head.
When they reached the car, Ryder started the engine and began to drive. Emily looked around, trying to get her bearings. They were heading out of town, and she had no idea where they were going.
"Where are we going?" she asked, trying to keep her voice calm.
Ryder didn't answer. He just kept driving, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
As they drove, Emily's anxiety grew. She didn't know what was going on, and she didn't like it.
After what felt like hours, Ryder finally spoke. "We're going to a safe house," he said. "My friend has set it up for us."
Emily's eyes widened. "A safe house? What's going on?"
Ryder's expression was grim. "We'll be safe there," he said. "But we have to be careful. There are people who want to hurt us."
Emily's heart skipped a beat. What people? And why did they want to hurt them?
As they drove, Emily's mind was racing. She didn't know what was going on, but she knew that she had to trust Ryder. He was trying to protect her, and she had to believe in him.
After a while, they arrived at the safe house. It was a small cabin in the woods, and it looked like it had been abandoned for years.
Ryder got out of the car and motioned for Emily to follow him. She did, her heart racing with anticipation.
As they entered the cabin, Emily saw that it was fully furnished. There was a kitchen, a living room, and a bedroom. It looked like someone had been living there recently.
Ryder motioned for Emily to sit down, and she did. He sat down next to her and took her hand.
"We're safe here," he said. "But we have to be careful. There are people who want to hurt us."
Emily's eyes locked onto his. "Who?" she asked.
Ryder's expression was grim. "I'll tell you everything," he said. "But first, we have to make sure that we're safe."
And with that, Ryder pulled out his phone and dialed a number. Emily watched as he spoke to someone, his expression growing more and more serious.
When he finally hung up, he turned to Emily. "We have to be careful," he said. "There are people who want to hurt us. But we'll be safe here. I promise."
Emily's heart skipped a beat. What people? And why did they want to hurt them?
As she looked into Ryder's eyes, she knew that she had to trust him. He was trying to protect her, and she had to believe in him.
But as she looked around the cabin, she couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched. And she knew that they had to be careful.
