The machine beeped steadily in the cold and white hospital room. Plugged to it was the love of Giselle's life, sleeping and pale. She sat beside the bed, feeling sapped of energy and life.
It had been a very long week. When the shock of the entire affair evaporated, what was left was a bitter residue of resentment and feuding.
