ELIZABETH
That night, I couldn’t quite fall asleep. The phone rang and I answered in an exhausted tone.
“Nat,” Tiffany chirped, a bass thumped in the background.
“Yeah?” I yawned, feeling restless for some reason.
“You up to going out? A couple of us are trying out a new place.”
“No thanks.” I said. “I’m not feeling it.”
“I know this is hard.” Tiffany said quietly, “But staying home and moping tonight won’t help anything. Tomorrow’s a school day. Come on. You have to milk the weekend while you can.”
“No thanks. But you guys go ahead and enjoy yourselves.”
She sighed. “Okay.”
