CHAPTER 31 ELIZABETH That night, I couldn’t quite fall asleep. The phone rang and I answered in an exhausted tone. “Nat,” Tiffany chirped, a bass thumped in the background. “Yeah?” I yawned, feeling restless for some reason. “You up to going out? A couple of us are trying out a new place.” “No thanks.” I said. “I’m not feeling it.” “I know this is hard.” Tiffany said quietly, “But staying home and moping tonight won’t help anything. Tomorrow’s a school day. Come on. You have to milk the weekend while you can.” “No thanks. But you guys go ahead and enjoy yourselves.” She sighed. “Okay.” We hung up, but her words resonated with me. I really shouldn’t be home and moping.
