NATALIA
Bright rays blazed fire behind my eyelids. I cursed and tried to hide within the dark confines of my pillow. Unfortunately, the sun had done its damage. I was up. I heard a light humming and glanced around to find Aunt Faith pulling back the curtains. So she’d been the culprit. I growled and thought of staying in bed just to spite her.
“Rise and shine, Liz.” She said, moving around my cot to get to the window on the other side of the room. “Rise and shine.” “What time is it?” I grumbled.
“Time for you to wake up.” She said with that innate bubbling cheer. I peeked at the woman who either had surgeons with the skill of the gods or she was naturally fair. I couldn’t determine her age, yet she carried herself with maturity.
