Chapter Two, Being Followed?

1634 Words
I went for my walk. It was Sunday and I was off the whole day. So I took a jacket and a bottle of water and got out. I needed some Oxygen. It was raining outside and the weather was beautiful. As I entered the park, I noticed something. Oh my God! What is it following me? It is the black Benz again. What does he wants? I entered an alley and soon there was no sign of him. I pretended I had got works to do there and this was a good trick and also a good plan. He soon appeared in the darkness and what do you think I did? Well, you are wrong! I went for him. There was first a fist on my face. And then there was a kick in my stomach. Blood covered my unshaven face. Rain was all over my grey jacket and it was also running down my neck. I pushed him to the wall and with force grabbed his neck which made him begin to squeal. Then I started; ‘Who do you work for?’ I asked in an aggressive way. ‘Why are you following me? What do you want from me?’ Questions jumping at him one after another. He penetrated with a loud noise and went on: ‘I don’t know what you are talking about?’ I said in such an angry voice: ‘Well, you bit me first!’ ‘You were coming toward me angrily!’ ‘And you were following me!’ Ultimately he had no more to say and no more energy to move. I released one of my hands and cleaned my bloody face. ‘If you don’t tell who you work with, then I am …’ I let the end open and simultaneously showed him a gun. He was so scared but despite that, he opened his mouth and answered something I hate to talk about again. ‘It was …, Oh God she will kill me. But I will get killed by you before if I don’t say. Well, it was … it was Lady Unthems. She told me to follow you to see what you were doing and where you were going.’  Now that his face was closer, I figured he was so ugly. So I managed a distance from the wall. ‘She also did tell me if I tell you that, she will kill me. But please sir, please don’t let this happen. I’ve got a sick wife and two children. Please.’ He was begging too hard I couldn’t say no. I remembered the poor workers and swore at her quietly. I took my face to the sky. Rain washed my bloody face. ‘You don’t worry. But she has to. She is gonna pay for this for her whole life…’  ‘Please don’t kill her. Her brother pays my family.’ So this was the story. Jinny, you won’t last long. I undertake it. She was playing it so hard and I knew I had to be more careful and teach her a real lesson.   ***     On Monday’s afternoon, I was driving in Count Unthems’ palace parking lot among those luxurious cars. A house lady showed me the way in. Count was watching English BBC and didn’t take any notice about my presence. The lady went forward, murmured something in Count’s ear and left. He asked me to seat and I took one after shaking hands with him. ‘Sir, you recognized me, didn’t you?’ ‘I still have my man feelings. I can smell an actual man from miles!’ ‘I am glad you do. If you pardon me, I had words with you.’ ‘Sure son, go ahead. But before, do you taste for a coffee? We have tasty espressos? And I do not accept a no as a response.’ ‘I would never say no to you sir.’ ‘So what is it that made the Lord of the Levine’s come over and pay this old poor a visit?’ ‘Well, sir it will be about your-’ ‘My daughter, am I right? Well big man I know about the arrangements and I am awfully sorry about that-’ I just found something odd about him. He didn’t have a bit of her daughter’s fluent accent. And what was it for, I didn’t know. ‘Sir it is not particularly about that. We –your daughter and I- have figured things out. I am here for something else. There is the thing I can’t discuss with your daughter herself. Did you know that your daughter had hired someone to check me out?’ He was amazed by that sudden declaration and his mouth was locked. This was the time when the house lady entered, handing me a cup of nice-smelling coffee. And he used this opportunity to change the subject completely which amazed me.   ***   It got me two hours or so to show my opponent who I really was. And it was 11 A.M when I became bold enough to text that beast. I knew how I should put the first step on. So let the game begin lady Unthems. Jinny's point of view Instantly after he left I went to wash my face from all those anxiety. When I watched my face in the mirror, I swore I would kill him one day. It was all white and looked so pale. Maybe not now but another day by the first opportunity I would do that. I started talking his words in the mirror in a totally terrible American accent to calm myself down a bit, but he’d done too much for that to be healed. I was even mad at Marion for giving him that smile and that paper I didn’t understand anything about. I got that all I needed was to go home and rest a little and think about the incident more carefully. So without any delay, I headed for home. In my way, I was losing my temper every time I was about to make a car crash. Idiot Americans! I was getting mad and I could feel this with every cell in my body.   ***     The next morning I had pain in everywhere but I felt much calmer. Starting from a terrible headache to a painful stomachache. I walked to the window with the sheets around rolling me like a pancake. I draw the curtain. I kept watching outside at the boring rainy scenery. It was pouring. I thought about John; his arms were strong and his face was charming. But I soon remembered how he behaved toward me the other day. And I also remembered how mad he had gotten when I called him an ARSEHOLE. Well dear man, I didn’t regret what I just said. And something else for you to be alarmed about, I regret saying nothing! I smiled at the thought of his muscular body and how impolite I had been and closed my eyes. For some minutes I dreamed about him. There was a knock on the door and Catherine entered the room with my breakfast and as usual put it on the bed. I stretched out my arm to take the lemonade when my phone buzzed. I looked at the open screen. ‘I am so sorry about yesterday. I really AM. I didn’t want to treat you like that. Now I do regret it.’ The number was unknown but it was clear that it was from him. I soon typed as a reply: ‘No need to be sorry.’ When the dreams come true! And again his muscles appeared in front of my eyes. But I mustn’t be kind towards him now. I added, ‘I already know that your benefits are more important than your reputation for a lady like me. So don’t bother to say ‘‘Sorry’’.’ Ha! Don’t mistake me for the women you had known dear Mr. Loreign. Because not only do I rubbish you, but I also rubbish all men alike. Mind is an awful thing; muscles and bad behavior conquering for attention in my mind. There was a moment of silence in the room. And then he answered; ‘No, you haven’t got the right idea my Lady. I’m sorry for feeling too much compassion. I should’ve been more like a real man. Cause as you know, when it comes to your case I’m no domestic anymore, dear Lady.’ I couldn’t reply because of my awful feeling in my stomach. But all I know for then was that I will not give him another chance to minimize me. Not even once. The rain was pouring outside my window and the sky was about to scream for the darkness. It was tempting to tell me, ‘It is just the beginning.’ And I knew it was true and a long story was about to occur. Nevertheless there was something about that which filled me with terror and it was that I was no ready for such a game he was beginning to play. But I reminded myself that all I needed was not to lose the simplest opportunity. This was how I had been grown and how I was about to live and then die.
