Chapter 17By the time Cameron had gathered his thoughts, he couldn’t see Jessie, Sadie, or Roger. Had they sat out front, or taken off down the walk? “I just remembered a meeting.” He tossed some bills on the table and rushed to the door before Eden could say anything to slow him down. When a quick peek showed the group wasn’t out front, he ran to the sidewalk and glanced up and down the street. “Damn,” he muttered, wondering which way they’d gone. A mental picture of the town had him jogging across the street and in the opposite direction of his office. He was taking a gamble the trio were going somewhere to eat. Except, why not Sally’s?
