The Orphanette Band
Midway, Utah - 1967
As usual, Lefty was pissed. He had already been “asked” to leave Heber City High School two weeks into freshman year for smoking pot, and now, after transferring to Midway High School, he was in trouble again. He didn't care because in two more years, he'd be able to quit school and get the hell out of Utah.
In his opinion, the entire educational system was complete bullshit. The classes were boring, and the desk seats were harder on his butt than riding a bronco, a skill he was rapidly honing every Saturday at a rodeo training facility in nearby Park City.
Now, because Matt Holbrook couldn't keep his damn mouth shut, he was in trouble again. This time it was for fighting, and Beaners would very likely cut off the allowance he needed
