Deceptions
Simmy's upcoming wedding was a welcome distraction after Millie died. Her announcement was sudden, but everyone was happy because she was marrying TJ, not Rick Dunn. She had been dating Rick for six months before surprising everyone by announcing in one breath that she was breaking up with Rick, and then in the next breath, asking them all to attend a quiet wedding with TJ that would take place in the beautiful lodge area of Lefty’s restaurant if he agreed to make it available.
They were all speechless, but they nodded in enthusiasm. Everyone had known TJ since he was a kid, and even though the collective opinion was that he was far less interested in making a commitment to someone than she was, they all loved him.
