Something Old, Something Nude
Park City, Utah - 1979
Lefty did not quit school, nor did he ever leave Utah. While in high school and at Utah State, he spent his summers managing ski slopes and saving all his earnings until he could invest in a small resort. Although he still loved riding old Millie, who Spratt said was 203 years old in dog years, he had long ago given up his teenage interest in bronco busting to focus on skiing and (much to everyone’s surprise) his education.
He was also interested in food service. An excellent cook himself, Lefty passed on some of his father's recipes to a few local chefs who became his partners when, only three years after graduating with honors from college, he invested his earnings from the ski resort into a small restaurant named Schuss
