23. The Madness

Sakina Eli had called for us all in the war chambers. Everyone was there, including Conin and my three lieutenants. While the rest of the palace was made of either white marble or alabaster, the war room was made of a darker, grey marble. There was a large black table with enough room for twelve, but for now, we all stood. “I don’t understand why you were out hunting alone,” I ranted, “it was a foolish idea in the first place.” A silence descended.
