Chapter 13 Summer turned to fall. Warmer clothing was seen in the village. Red Horse made sure Robert had a warm deerskin shirt to wear when days and evenings were cool. Hunts continued. Game was brought back and the meat dried for the long days of winter when food was likely to become scarce. Daniel had begun to join the hunts. At first Falling Rain was not in favor of this, having lost one son in such a manner. But soon her pride in the boy’s accomplishments with a bow and lance overcame her fear.
