They were sequestered in Lee’s private space. Neither of them had said much since his arrival, though Boyd kept trying to make small talk. After the fifth or sixth failed attempt he gave up, settling into the silence with comfortable familiarity. Even after all the months apart…Boyd scanned the pictures on the walls, not surprised to find most of them to be space related, pleased to see one of the photos was a cover from one of his novels, the one Lee loved the most. Books sat on shelves and there were other odd knickknacks, things Lee brought with him from home and items he must have picked up along the way.
