Make Him Suffer

Kael’s POV “Because I’m their mommy,” she snapped me. “Don’t be insane!” My breath hitched, I didn't like the idea she was throwing at me. Become a mother to the prisoners? Had she completely lost her mind? “I don’t want you calling yourself their mother!” A fury clawing at me. Without thinking, I grabbed her wrist and dragged her to the small garden beside the old building. The grass was damp with leftover dew, cold against my knees as I pinned her down. “What are you trying to do?!” she fought back, hands struggling in vain. “If you want to be a mother so badly,” my voice almost a growl, “then I can get you pregnant right now.” Her eyes widened, she will be shocked, but I didn’t care anymore. Her body was still untouched, but that damn scent of the prison clung to her, driving me insane until I crushed my lips against hers. I needed to erase that filthy stench right now. “I don’t understand what you’re saying!” she cried, tears welling in her eyes. I glared at her. She must still remember the way those men in prison looked at her, maybe even touched her. “Then tell me,” I demanded through gritted teeth, “what part of you did they touch?” “None of them!” she shot back instantly. I froze. Impossible. Dark thoughts spiraled through me—what kind of sick games did they play with her in there? I lowered my head, sinking my teeth and lips into her neck, leaving my mark on her skin. A smirk tugged at my mouth at the sight of it, raw and red, but she turned her face away. Damn it! I never should’ve let her stay in that prison for so long! Frustration clawed at me, and I barked, “From now on, you’re not allowed near any man.” Her voice trembled. “You reject me, yet you touch me whenever you want. What the hell do you even want from my life?!” Her words hit me like a punch. She was right. I had rejected her at our soul-binding. So why was I this possessive now? I had no answer. Cursing under my breath, I slammed my fist into the ground, then stood and walked away from her. Lira’s POV I sat down slowly, trying to fix my clothes, Kael hadn’t unbuttoned them, but I looked disheveled but my hair tangled, my chest rising and hickey clearly printed on my neck. I stared at his back. From the very beginning, I never truly understood why he was so strict with me. But after what I just said, I might finally know the reason. He must like me. It sounded cliché, but I am beautiful. And I could feel the way he couldn’t pull his eyes away from me. A small smile slipped onto my lips. Maybe this was a good first step. I glanced at Maeva—she still looked pale, her eyes wide with shock. I walked over, brushed her hair gently, and whispered, “I hope your mind is still stable.” “Not at all!” she snapped through telepathy, her voice sharp with anger. “What you did just now almost got me killed, you i***t!” "I’m sorry," I said, the guilt washing over me. “I just hate it when the Alpha keeps us trapped like this,” I whispered back. “By arguing with him? Are you insane, Lira?” Maeva shot back. “Don’t forget—without Alpha Kael, we’d both be dead already.” I froze, staring at her. “What did you just say? Repeat it.” Maeva crossed her arms, her gaze cutting deep. “That’s the truth.” I swallowed hard. “That can’t be…” Kael’s POV I stepped closer to her, my hand lifting to cup her jaw. Her skin was cool against my palm. “What do you mean, ‘that can’t be’?” I ask with a sensitive feeling. She forced a smile at me. What unsettled me most was the way they appeared to be having conversation. Ashera's lips moved, words spilling out, but Maeva remained silent, And yet Ashera reacted, as if she could hear Maeva's thoughts without a single sound escaping her. My brows furrowed. What else are they hiding from me? Ashera's tears slid down her cheeks, landing on my hand. The sight shook me. Damn it. What’s making her cry now? Before I could stop myself, I bent down, pressing a kiss to her eyelids, tasting the salt of her tears as I wiped them away with my lips. Her body stiffened, her breath caught. The urge to touch her more burned through me, but I held myself back. “From now on, you’re not allowed anywhere near the prison without my permission,” I said firmly. She looked up at me, defiant. “And what gives you that right?” I straightened. “I am the Alpha of this territory. The fact that I spared your life is already something you should be grateful for.” She scoffed, lips curling. “I don’t see it as kindness, mighty Alpha.” Her words were sharp as knives. I clenched my jaw. “I’m done arguing with you!” I grabbed her hand, dragging her away from the garden. “Maeva!” she cried out, twisting to look back. “Who’s Maeva?” I demanded. Was that another man she had toyed with? She pointed to her friend. “She can’t be left behind. She has to come with us.” I frowned. “And do you even know where I’m taking you?” Her eyes held steady, filled with certainty. “As long as Maeva is with me, I’ll be safe.” My emotions surged back. How the hell could Maeva be the one who made her feel safe? I pulled her closer, crushing my lips against hers once more, then held her gaze for a long. “I’ll be the one to keep you safe, girl.” My voice came out rough. And that man named Maeva, I will make him suffer!
