Tyler came out of the hospital a week after he had a gunshot. It wasn't serious and he only needs to rest for the entire week to heal. He couldn't explain how happy he was being shot. If that didn't happen then he wouldn't be able to get close with Marianne which is the opposite of what his brother had advised him.
