Raun's POV
I linked my fingers behind my head as I rested on the wooden headboard of my bed while sitting on the bed, my gaze remained fixated on the hourglass laying on my nightstand as my patience waned with each second that passed by. The palace had been busy with preparations for my wedding since the beginning of this week but today was a lot more intense— why wouldn't it be? Afterall it is my nuptials today.
My door slowly creaked open, forcing me to sit up immediately. I held a palm out towards the door, slowly creating a fireball on it, with the intention of aiming at whoever was so audacious to enter my room uninvited. A moment passed before my intruder walked in, without bothering to know who it was I shot at the person.
"Dispel" My intruder commanded and the fireball vanished into thin air. I lifted up my eyes to meet those of my intruder, his blue eyes were fiery and full of life in stark contrast to my boring golden eyes. An involuntary sigh escaped my lips as one of my palms found my face.
"Now what exactly was that about bro? That is no way to welcome a visitor much less a friend" Thon, my advisor commented as he advanced further into my chamber, he wore a wide grin on his face.
"Visitors know how to knock and wait until they are granted permission to enter... you just excel at invading my private space and making yourself comfortable" I retorted, settling back on my headboard.
"Don't mind me because I only have the opportunity to do so now, in a few hours you, my Lord, will be married and I will not be able to enter into your chamber as I please" Thon replied, plopping himself down on the edge of my bed.
"Leave!" I said sternly, giving him a death stare. A chuckle escaped his lips as he scooted closer to me.
"You see this…" he paused, pointing at my frowning face "is the reason why you do not have any friends"
"This…" I pointed at my face "Has nothing to do with my lack of human disturbers"
"You are so uptight, you know? I hope it won't affect your relationship with your new wife"
"As far as I can remember I am not yet married so refrain from calling her my wife"
"Nauel Havaska will be your wife, it is a destiny written in stone, a verdict passed by the heavens… better get used to it and treat her well" Thon stated confidently, his eyes glinting with amusement.
"Since we are both in the mood of advising each other, I would advise you to keep your advice restricted to the four corners of my court and not my bedchamber if not a replacement will be made for you" I passed on a subtle threat and his eyes finally lost its glint.
"You wouldn't dare!" He flared, a deadly underton. e to his voice. Thon hates being threatened, it was a secret I was lucky to discover a while back. A smirk worked its way up my chin.
"I am the sole ruler of Tec you know… there is absolutely nothing I cannot dare or do" I bragged effortlessly.
"And yet you cannot put a stop to your wedding even though you enjoy bachelorhood " Thon made a comeback, his smile returned to his face.
"That is because this Union is for the betterment of Tec and the princess is a good choice" I said in my defense.
"It seems a lot to me like someone's excited even though they pretend to be all grumpy about it" Thon insinuated, his smirk grew wider as he wiggled his eyebrows at me.
I was in no way excited about the union that was about to be made between my humble self and the Hohrian princess but that was for my knowledge alone not Thon's.
"Stop disturbing me and leave"
"You and I both know that I will do no such thing Raun… if I leave you then know that you will truly be alone"
"I have absolutely no problem with that… also, you and I are not on a first name basis"
"Hmm… but to think of it, you never had a problem with me calling your name… or don't tell me you plan to make it a thing for only you and your wife… Awwn I never thought you had a roman—" he was still saying when I stalked towards him and abruptly dragged him off my bed.
When meets
"Enough! You. Get. Out" I shouted at him, pulling him towards the door. I grabbed the doorknob and twisted it open only to be met with the sight of a young lady holding out a clenched fist in front of my face.
A blush crept onto the girl's cheek as she slowly lowered her hand to her side, lifting up her gaze to meet my scrutinizing eyes. A loud disturbing shriek erupted from her mouth as she stumbled and fell to the ground.
"Now would you look at that... you scared the poor girl with your stoic face" Thon sighed, shaking his head slightly. He reached out to help her stand up.
"Why are you here?" I questioned, as my eyes flickered between the girl and my advisor.
"My L..L..Lord the pr...princess of h..Hohr and her train is here" she managed to stutter out her words as she trembled visibly.
