Trapped Butterfly

Chapter 1

"Kring, kring, kriiing..." Alexa's alarm clock has been ringing for five minutes already. Her mind is awake, but her eyes are still closed. She is not eager to face another usual, and for her, boring, day at her father's company.

However, Alexa also knows that if she does not get up and go to work on time, she'll get it from her father himself. Mind you, Alexander, the boss of the compant and Alexa's father, is a strict and demanding boss. He is even more demanding towards his own children than to his employees. He reasons that he demands excellence from himself and his children should learn to appreciate the value of work like he does.

Thinking of her father, Alexa reluctantly gets up and goes to take a shower. She chooses her clothes carefully and decides to wear black pencil cut skirt, red sleeveless blouse, and black blazer. She also dons her red designer bag and red stiletto shoes. Even though she is already bored with her work and her life, she maintains a professional look.

When she goes down, breakfast has already been prepared so she quickly eats and her chauffeur drives her to their company. She arrives at exactly eight in the morning. Well, she cannot be late. She is the manager and there are documents to sign.

This has been Alexa's life ever since she graduated from college and that has been four years now. Much as there is professional growth, Alexa is bored.

She got nice house, nice clothes, nice work, but she is extremely bored. Typical rich girl, poor me syndrome.

She does not get much affection from her dad also since her mom died when Alexa was only seven years old and her brother Andrew was four. Her father loves her, but he is not one to show affection physically nor through words. Besides, he buries himself in work to try to numb himself of the pain brought by his wife's death.

He lavishly gives Alexa and Andrew all kinds of gifts such as jewelry, car, and condominium.

However, Alexa does not wish for all riches and all she craves is affection and a sense of belonging. Her brother also feels the same way, but is already used to their father's ways and is content with his life. Like Alexa, Andrew also manages one of their companies. He already has a lovely wife. Alexa, on the other hand, is single, bored, and lonely. Her heart yearns for love.
