Kade King Aside from the burden and misery my father left behind, he also left me a major corporation. Majesty Corp, an empire he built in his name. I arrived at the prestigious company under the afternoon sky, stepping out of the car and pausing to stare up at the towering building. Around me, everyone stopped in their tracks, bowing their heads in respect. It had been a surreal moment. Her presence so close, her gaze fixed on me. For a brief instant, nothing else mattered. All I wanted was to lean over and kiss her lips. But I knew doing so in public would not only ruin her. It might destroy her completely. Being on the edge is one thing. But if she’s the one to pay the price, I want no part in it. I pulled away from my car and headed inside, Drizzel walking beside me. We had made love again after my Omega left. I had found myself pretending it was her. I took Drizzel more than once, made her feel wanted, and for a fleeting moment, I felt satisfied. Until reality came crashing down. I was with Drizzel, not Pearl Gem. Majesty Corp was structured with reason. Every Royal House had a department within it. Yet at the end of each day, no decision was final without my approval. That’s where the title “Majesty” came into play. “I will head in now, Kade,” Drizzel said, snapping me out of my thoughts as we stopped before the opulent reception. She wore a bright smile, still giggling from our morning intimacy. It had been a long time since I touched her that way but all of it had stemmed from a hunger I felt for someone else. I nodded, offering no words, and turned to walk away but I caught the eyes on us. Especially those from the House of ThornCrest. They are in charge of Entertainment. They’d love to publish another headline about the king and his long-time girlfriend parting without a kiss. I pulled Drizzel into my arms, ignoring the protest of my heart, and kissed her softly. She melted into me. “I will see you in the evening,” She said, skipping off happily toward the modeling wing. I stood there for a moment, wondering why we were even meeting tonight. With no answer in mind, I turned and headed toward my department to begin the day. *** “No, not there. Move it away from the blinds,” I instructed. “Yes. That’s better.” Now, I could see her from my office if the blinds stayed open. I stood still, thumb pressed against my lips, thinking everything through. What else was missing? “We could hang a frame of Her Grace on the wall,” Marce said behind me, “that way, Your Omega will have a reason to rebel.” I turned to glare at him. “I’m… I apologize, Your Majesty,” He stammered, catching my expression. It had been a hellish day. I was nearly done with my tasks, but I couldn’t shake her from my mind. My Omega. I couldn’t stop thinking about her lips. I wanted them. I wanted her. Even during meetings with business partners, I couldn’t concentrate. I debated calling her more than a hundred times. It felt suffocating not being able to see her or hear her voice. If I had the choice, I’d call her every second of the day. And maybe I didn’t need permission at all. I had set up her office earlier, giving strict instructions. It was located inside mine, a moderate space suited for her. Beautiful, personal. Her desk, two chairs. one for her, and the other, obviously not for any male client, a flower vase beside her desk because I knew she loved flowers. I looked up at the wall and nodded, finally realizing what belonged there. I turned and stepped into my main office, reaching for my phone, when the door opened and Drizzel walked in, undeniably stunning. “Kade,” She called, circling her arms around my neck and kissing me lightly. “I’m so tired.” I smiled faintly at her complaint. Was standing for a photo shoot really so exhausting? But then I remembered she wasn’t Pear Gem. She wasn’t raised to endure hardship. Drizzel was different. “You can take a break if you want. Should I call your boss?” I asked. “You are my boss,” She giggled. “I mean Xerox,” I replied softly, locking eyes with her. She stilled in my arms. There was history there with Xerox ThornCrest. A rival. Both to the throne and to the girl I’d dated most of my life. He ran Entertainment and had eyes everywhere. “I will pass. As long as you are here, I will be fine.” “Yeah,” I murmured, letting her kiss me again. “So… what about tonight?” I raised a brow. “Tonight?” She took a step back in surprise . “You didn’t know? We have a dinner date with my parents.” “A date?” I repeated. “Marce didn’t mention anything.” “Uh…” Marce stepped forward nervously. “I apologize, Your Majesty. I meant to inform you earlier, but you were busy. Her Grace arranged a dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Uriah.” Fury surged in my chest. “My mother arranged this and you are just telling me now?” “I was…” He began, but quickly went silent, swallowing hard. Silence fell. I thought about it. If I went to this dinner, I wouldn’t be able to see Pearl tonight. I had to choose. Drizzel or Pearl Gem. “Let’s move it to tomorrow night, Drizzel,” I said quietly from my desk. “I will be more prepared then.” “But… you don’t have anything else tonight, do you?” I didn’t answer. I stared into her eyes, and I saw the moment she read the truth, the words I didn’t say out loud. I was going to Pearl Gem tonight. And nothing, no one, would stop me.
