Colt has a girlfriend?
I could understand the keeping secret his wolf side but he couldn't find anytime this last week to say he had a girlfriend. Why wouldn't he mention her or try to call her?
"You are not his girlfriend, Willow." Siobhan corrected. Oh, that's why.
"Yeah, he broke up with you months ago and all he did was kiss you." Naomi adds, standing slightly in front of me to get in Willow's face.
"We are on a break." She spits out, glaring at Naomi.
"Question - is it still a break if it is months ago? That sounds more like a break up." I muse which earns me a smirk from Naomi and Siobhan.
Willow stares at me coldly. "I would watch what you say to me, human. I am to be his Luna once he has his Alpha ceremony."
"Wouldn't hold your breathe. You see-" Siobhan starts to explain but Willow cuts off.
"I don't care what you have to say. What I want to know is who we just lost? And I bet she had something to do with it by the looks of her arms." Willow gestures at me.
"I know I am new round here but you should watch your mouth, especially to the ladies who I believe are your leaders. Unless I have understood werewolves wrong!?"
"Nope, you got it spot on." Naomi says but does not break her gaze away from Willow.
"The member we lost was Adeline, she took her own life and all the ranked members saw it. Colt and the others are dealing with it as we speak." Siobhan says and then takes my hand. "Whilst we take Abby to get her arms checked out."
"Colt lost his mum?" Willow looked taken aback but it somehow looked... fake! "I should go comfort him. He will need me now more than ever." She goes to walk past us but Naomi shoves her back.
"You will do no such thing! You mean nothing for him so why would he want you?" Naomi growls at her; her eyes beginning to flicker from normal to black.
"Because, as his future Luna, I need to be there for him in his time of need." She looked offended that Naomi would even question that.
"You look desperate."
"What did you say?" Shd seethed and stared at me. Sh*t, that was meant to remain in my head.
"Well.. I am not wrong. Your relationship ended and yet you are clinging onto something that doesn't exist." I remark and decide to throw caution to the wind as I meet her stare.
"So you are either desperate for his attention, his body, his power or his money. So, which one is it?" By the look on her face, she had never been challenged before.
She was fuming. "How. Dare. You?" She tries to step closer but is blocked by the others. I can see a crowd start to emerge from the house and watch the encounter.
"Do not even think about touching her! She is the Alpha's mate and is under the his protection and he will punish you if she is hurt, or worse!" Naomi commands as she shoves Willow back again. A few people gasped at that statement.
"Oh, really? His mate's with a human? Does she really mean that much to him?" Willow mocks.
"You are so dumb, Willow. Where do you think he has been all week!?" Siobhan questions her before pointing at me. "Then, guess what? She was attacked by Reuben and Colt killed him for it. So, yes. He will punish you if you touch her."
The crowd had got closer and I could hear the mumblings as talked about what they had just heard. The three ladies in the middle, didn't seem to notice as they were too focused on their argument.
"But Abby, here, can handle herself anyway because only yesterday did she kill Blood Moon's Beta, Zack." Naomi exclaims. It sounded like she had pride in her voice, but that comment wanted to make me throw up.
By the look of the crowd, they were stunned - some looked impressed, others.. not so much.
"Err, guys? Are we done here?" I ask as they just stared each other down for a bit. It was only when I spoke did they see the crowd around us.
"Unless you want to train more. GET BACK TO YOUR JOBS!" Naomi shouts at the top of her lungs, causing everyone to scurry off.
Willow was the only one still here. "Go find yourself useful, Willow, and do something other than be here." Naomi says, brushing past her.
I go to do the same but Willow grabs me by my shoulder; her lips coming close to my ear. "Colt is mine, so back off!"
"Hey! Hands off!" Siobhan grabs her but Willow pushes her away. Siobhan stumbles and trips up. Naomi is near her so manages to catch her before she falls.
"Did you seriously attack your Gamma?" Naomi had now black eyes as she stared at Willow.
"It was an accident, I did not mean anything by it." Willow throws up her hands but that didn't sound like an apology.
"You should apologise." I crossed my arms and stared at her.
"You don't gi-" She goes to snark back but I smack her across the face. I am about done with this b*tch.
"You need to learn to respect people rather than treating them like trash. So, until you do, I am going to treat you like how you treat others." I stand tall and look her dead in the eye as she clutches her cheek.
"You little-" before she can retaliate, something blocks my view. I was staring at the back of someone with tattooed sleeves. Colt.
"Willow, get out of here. Now!" His teeth grind together as he orders her away. She let's out a huff and leaves.
"What happened here?" Austin looks between us whilst Dan was checking on Siobhan. Naomi recounts the tale, adding her own colourful language to it whenever she brought up Willow. By the end of it, all the men were rubbing their heads.
"Abby, it might be best if you stayed at your house, until things settle down here" Colt turns to me with pain in his eyes. "I can't lose anyone else."
"It's ok, you don't need to explain - I understand." Removing me from the pack will hopefully ease some tension and he just lost his mum - he needed time to grieve.
"Ok.. let's go get your arms looked at." He sighs and gives me a faint smile as he leads us inside. "But I do want you to have guards now."
