“Have you unplugged everything?” Sophie asked, grabbing one of Ava’s suitcases. “Everything but the fridge. Why is it that we always unplug everything but the fridge?” Ava wondered, slinging her backpack over her shoulder. “It’s just an unwritten rule. Everything else might blow up or something but the fridge is solid. Have you got your passport?” Ava unzipped her purse for what must have been the fiftieth time. “Passport, check. You have the tickets, right?” “Sure as hell do my beautiful sidekick. Right here in my purse, along with a second treat from the pops. We got a plastic allowance boost. Dad said this is his treat to both of us so you, my darling, get to help me break his bank account. Come on. The taxi is waiting and so am I. Can’t wait to get on that bloody plane. Vegas, here
