19 Family at Home After Tom showed me the information he’d found in the old UBC newspaper archives, I jotted down the site address, then went into my own office and closed the door behind me. I turned my notebook to a blank page and powered up my computer. I quickly found the website and the relevant story. There it was. The article was about a female student at UBC in the sixties named Baker. The student newspaper was indeed called the UBC Workers’ News and they had a front-page picture with an article about a founding member that had disappeared. There was a picture with a young blonde woman in her early twenties and two other people, one a man and the other a woman with long blonde hair, too.
