I am Broken

Chapter 15- Willow POV

            My heart stopped; my whole body stopped. The most unimaginable pain rippled through my body, I couldn’t understand what was happening around me, people fighting, others screaming but my eyes could not focus off another’s, it was a face I remembered but not from reality but more from a dream or a past life, there was danger behind them but I couldn’t stop myself from being drawn to them, I had to fight this feeling with all I had in me, I could not betray the ones I love but something in my head was telling me to love someone else, that wasn’t right.

              The stranger smiled at me, blood dripping from his mouth. He stared at me possessively and proud at what he had accomplished, I held my hand up to my neck, it felt cool and wet after bring my hand back into view I realised it was my own blood, he must have bitten me, and it felt right and wrong at the same time, my darkest thoughts came in to my mind but I shuck my head to drown them out, I could not brake, I could not loose myself to whatever this person had in store for me.

            I looked around in the chaos as I remembered what I had to do to Jake, but he was nowhere to be seen, I also scanned the room for anyone I knew but they were all gone, people were fighting but anyone important had vanished and I couldn’t understand why, my mind was quickly distracted when someone’s arms wrapped around me, I was ready to fight but something in my head said they weren’t a threat.

             “My love you are finally back in my arms, it’s okay, I won’t hurt you I just want to take you home” my body lent into him and my head nodded in acceptance, but my mind screamed no, it was like I was loosening my own will, and I promised to never do that, I turned to face my new captor or my new… I wasn’t sure who he was to me, captor, or mate? He did just mark me, but It didn’t feel right, did it? It hurt I knew that but maybe that was the way it was supposed to be, my head and my heart were telling me different things.

         My legs were too weak to move from the sudden pain I had felt so, my mystery man lifted me into his arms, I soon realised he was the one I had brought back but now the mask was removed, I couldn’t deny he was good looking but something about him sent shivers down my spine, he had black hair like Marcus, but his eyes they looked human, a deep green almost like Alex’s, I almost lost myself in them thinking about Alex but his shouting brought me back.

            “What do you mean, they escaped!” a bony looking man with a creepy smile looked me up and down as I was held tightly in this man’s arms, “Jake, Marcus and the others have fled and got a privet Jet before we could kill them, we not sure where they are heading” the man holding me held me tighter “we will have a chance to kill them all, I have what I came for and I’m never letting her go again” he looked down at me with a possessive smile and I wasn’t sure how to take it, my head and my heart again, constantly screaming danger but I never felt it, he just want to protect me right? Maybe I was in danger? My head was hurting from all these confusing thoughts, so I laid my head into his even more. 

           I tried to remember the ones I loved but my memories were becoming dark and clouded, almost like they weren’t really anymore, I had to hold on to one memory each before they all faded away, this felt more than a mating bond, something else was making me forget my past and is only giving me a dark future, was what he said true that the demon bond changes you makes you dark and makes you forget, I need to remember, I had to remember.

          The mystery man placed me into a car that was waiting for us, screams and smoke could be seen and heard in the background, a smile formed across my face their pain fuelling my happiness, what was happening to me? STOP STOP!! I had to distract myself, the mystery man got in next to me as we pulled away and I was glad to be leaving this place, but I still felt in danger after a few minutes of silence I spoke “who are you?”

             He turned to me and smiled “the one you are destined to be with, we knew each other in a past life and you were taken from me, I have spent a lifetime trying to find you and get you back but a lot has got in my way, but no longer, I finally have you” he grab my hand and held it tightly, I felt the urge to hold it tightly back but I remained still and unsure, “I must say, when I saw you at your wedding I could kill but I knew that I had to wait, I have waited a few lifetimes what’s another year to come up with the perfect plan.”

             “I don’t understand what you mean, you were at my wedding?” I asked “yes, I had been living in Marcus’s body while mine was being restored after I was brutally murdered, and when I saw you through his eyes, I thought I was dreaming, I had lost you and then there you stood, so beautiful” I didn’t know if we had meet each other in a another life, I had only known this one, I tried to remember someone talking to me about the past but the memory just wasn’t there, things had disappeared and only anger peeking through.

               I clenched his hand as the pain and sadness of my ruined life was running through my mind “I can see you are angry my dear, I can see in your eyes those beautiful black eyes that you want revenge” he smiled as I looked in to the rear view mirror seeing my once purple eyes now black as darkens its self, “they took my life, my freedom, all of them they thought they were saving me but they took my freedom away they will pay, I will make them pay!” I felt wrong and right as the same time, my past was now murky like an unsettled ocean, images intertwined with pain, I didn’t want to see them no more “we will make them pay my darling, I will give all of them to you” his dark laughter filled the car as I had one last question “what do are call you?” his reply was simple and quick “Valick, my name is Valick demon king!”
