THEY STOOD IN A GROUP, with swords at the ready, mesmerized by what they found. The air was hot and moist, like a warm summer day. Coats and cloaks were quickly tossed to the ground. Outer tunics were shed and dropped onto the cobblestone street. A warm breeze kissed their faces and warmed their half-frozen ears. The city was pristine, not a speck of dirt or grime. The trees, flowers, and bushes look freshly trimmed. Yet the streets were empty. No elves, horses, or any living creatures could be seen. A wind chime echoed through the square.
