“Dante, do you actually know her?” I asked, my eyes widening with confusion and maybe a tiny bit of jealousy I wasn’t quite ready to admit yet.
She started running toward us like she’d been waiting for this exact moment, and I immediately noticed she was about to throw her arms around Dante in a full hug.
But he quickly stretched out his right hand instead, creating a physical barrier that stopped her from pulling him into an embrace.
