“Zara, please don’t do anything drastic. No one should make any decisions before we get back from the registry office,” Dante’s dad pleaded. “There must be some mix-up somewhere. I’m certain this is just a misunderstanding that we can clear up.”
I looked over at his mom and noticed she had completely turned her face away, like she didn’t care at all about what was happening.
I was really beginning to notice at this point that she didn’t like me at all, and ever since I stepped foot into this house and signed those marriage documents, her entire attitude toward me had shifted drastically.
She had really changed from the woman who had been somewhat warm during our first meetings to this cold distant person who could barely look at me.
