Chapitre V: Friends

Raven's Point of View :

"I thought you were hungry?" I asked Lannah, because she ordered a little more than her regular.

"I lost my appetite." Sometimes I can't stop thinking whether she's nuts or not.

"Promise me you won't tell them what happened earlier." I stopped eating and looked at her face. It seemed serious.

Her cheeks and eyes are still a little red. She looked serious now, so I laughed. She hit me in return.

"What should I not say to them? That you're so scared to the point that you cry? Or you're trying to touch-" She immediately pushed the sandwich inside my mouth.

"Both." Her irritated answer made me laugh even more and she just ignored me.

"Where are we heading next?" I asked her and got up to leave the cafeteria.

"Do not know." She walked ahead of me first.

"Let's go back there, that place seems important." I started, since she doesn't have any plans.

"NO!" She turned quickly and shouted.

"Tss, I know this university more than you know. On the right side of the university, all you can find is that house and the mini-forest. All the new buildings you see are on the other side which are the latest built. You don't have any searchable information in that area." I explained.

"No is a no! Let's just say we didn't see anything and couldn't find anything." She said stubbornly.

"Why don't you want to go? You were the first one to go in, and then a second later you will get scared." I said, irritated.

"Let's not talk about it." She still turned her back to me, but fear was clearly written in her voice.

I held her hand and made her body face towards me, then looked into her eyes.

"Let's go." I insisted, she just shook her head in response.

"Tss, trust me with this one, OK? Or I'll tell them what happened haha." I joked with a mix of threat, she nodded in response so I let go of her hand.

Her knees were shaking when I opened the door. I entered first, she was behind me.

"Have you found anything here on the ground floor?" I asked her while looking around the place.

"No, the majority here are just paintings and probably personal stuff." She stammered her answer.

"The sun is high up. Why are you scared?" I said, my back facing her.

"I just ha-te this pla-ce." She says.

"Let's go first into that area and check the paintings." I pointed in the direction of what looked like a big room. She didn't say a word and just followed me.

I entered the door and I was exposed to so many paintings, it looked like the living room.

"Rave where are you?" She screamed a bit softly, pfft scaredy-cat.

"Here!" I answered.

"Whoah." She said after entering. She also looked at the paintings.

There are a lot of paintings here, some of them are faded because they haven't been cared for in years.

It's all ancient, mostly royalty, portraits of a king, queen, princess, prince, palaces, terrain and so on.

There seems to be no evidence to help us know about the founder and beginning of this school. Is the founder a member of a royal family? Or a loyal servant? Hmm.

"Rave come here." I went to the place where Lannah was holding a painting when she called me.

I was surprised by what I saw. I read what was written on the bottom.

"Victor the Great, founder of everything." So I guess he's a founder of a kingdom, and his grandchildren are in the other paintings?

"He really looks like you." Her face showed amazement.

"Yeah." He really looks like me, but I don't have any royal blood and I'm not from Europe.

"Is that you in your past life? Or is he your ancestor?" She asked me while still staring at the painting.

"I don't know, maybe it's just a coincidence." I said and started to walk away from her.

"What is his relationship with the founder of this university? Oy! Where are you going?" She asked as she followed behind me. We left the room.

"Probably go out of this room, let's go to the 2nd floor?" I said while walking straight.

I was surprised when she held my hand, and just stood up. Doesn't mean that if she's scared that she can hold my hand freely? I turned around so that we both faced each other.

"Don't." She was very scared and looked like she was going to cry again.

I approached her and patted her shoulder. "Why?" I asked.

She didn't answer, instead she just shook her head and gave me a serious look.

Haays. "Fine if you're scared, you can hold my hand, probably you're just taking chances, but since it's your birthday, it's OK, let's just go up." I give up with her behavior.

She tightened her grip on my hand and shook her head.

"Shh! Nothing bad will happen, you don't really know me." I smiled at her and turned to start walking.

I felt that she also started walking, which somehow she wanted to be dragged on.

"It's just all the books here." I looked around the rooms. I felt tired. I didn't want to read.

"We're leaving." She said.

"What? There's another room over there, maybe something important is in there." I was about to walk when I noticed her just standing behind me, so I pulled her closer.

"Just hold my hand, you have nothing to fear." I said, calming her down.

We went to the last room. As usual, it was just books, but this room seemed to be more organized than the previous ones.

I was just looking at the books, and all I could do was read their titles. I couldn't open the books because I was holding the other hand of the scared woman.

She seemed restless and looked like she was going to fall at any moment, so I pulled her out of the place. I wouldn't want to be blamed if something bad happened to her.

We're going back to the library. It looks like she's going to cry again, but she stops it from falling because she knows we're coming back. We met Daph and Bri along the way.

"We're done with the search, aren't you done yet?" I asked the two. They didn't answer and just looked at us. I followed where they were looking-

"s**t!" I let go of our holding hands, and Lannah seemed to come back to reality because of my cursing.

"Don't get me wrong." I said. Maybe they will think of something if I won't explain, but they just gave me a silly smile. Damn!

"You're thinking wrong, he was just scared to the point he wanted to get dragged, he didn't want to join me in the mini-forest part, so I just pulled him." She explained to her friends.

What the? The situation is reversed. I glared at her. She gave me a pitiful face.

Bless you for your birthday. You really owe me a lot, Lannah. You will pay it back in no time.

"Sorry, I have a fear of darkness." I surrendered.

The two just laughed. "Haha OK. We're not done yet though, we just had our lunch." Bri answered.

"We'll be back later and please tell them to get ready, because I'll hit them in no time, this thing is so tiring." After Daph said that, they also. We went to the library.

"Arrived so early?" Spence opened up to me.

"There's nothing to see there, you're just fooling us. By the way, get ready for Daph." My answer. The two just looked at each other.

"What happened to your partner?" Alex asked while pointing to the person next to me who had already fallen asleep. I just shook my head in response.

"It's still 1:30 p.m. right?" Spence just nodded at my question.

"Just continue with what you're doing." My will to the two who are reading books.

I adjusted myself as I felt sleepy, until everything went dark.

"Rave, wake up! Bro!" I was awakened by the noise. Alex is really good at this thing.

"Be ready, we're leaving." Luke opened when I woke up.

"To where?" I looked around and only the four of us were here. I fixed myself at the same time.

"At our favorite place, the girls are already there, so she won't notice." Spence answered.

"Thanks for distracting her earlier." Luke.

We went straight to the place. They gave me a balloon while Luke and I were in the car.

I saw the four from far away. They immediately blindfolded Lannah before we could even get close.

We took her inside the restaurant. Effort huh? These girlies and scumbags really made an effort for this.

We surprised her. We did it, we made her day happy even though they made us tired earlier.

"Thanks guys." She cried, thanking us.

"Thanks to Rave, and you didn't notice that we weren't at school, and were busy here haha." Luke started.

"Why were these two in the library earlier?" Lannah asked, pointing to Spence and Alex.

"To make sure that everything is alright." said Mary.

"Thank you so much guys! Kyaah! You made my afternoon happy even though you made me feel so tired earlier, we look like fools." She laughed at the words and looked in my direction. I gave her a smile and she immediately turned away haha.

"What did you do earlier? You were just walking around, right? What's tiring about that?" Alex asked.

"Don't tell me?" Bri covered her mouth and the six stared at each other.

"Are you pregnant, Lannah? Omo." Mary.

"That's why they were holding hands earlier." Daph said.

They were all surprised by what Daph said. I knew that she would give it a different meaning.

"Is it true?" They asked at the same time. I was getting irritated and I could feel Lannah getting annoyed too.

"No." We answered together.

"Your brains are crazy! I was scared so she just helped me calm down!" I gave Daph and Bri a sharp look at the same time.

"You made us tired too! That's enough! Let's have fun and no more questions!" Lannah said and they fell silent.

"Actually there was a funny scene earlier haha." I joked to lighten the atmosphere.

She gave me a sharp look. "What?" asked Lannah.

"Because she became a fisherman earlier." Their faces became serious and, waiting for what I would say next, Lannah was holding back her anger.

"On the stairs down to the ground floor but no fish was caught haha." They got what I meant and somehow they laughed, Lannah's face turned red pfft.

When she looked at me, I winked at her, and she immediately looked away. Haha, I'm not going to tell them. I also don't want to be part of the interrogation, it would just give me a headache. We talked and hung out until the sun went down.

"I declare this our friendship day! We're friends now, huh? And it's easy to remember because it's also Lannah's birthday." Mary stood up smiling and offered to cheers.

"Cheers for Lannah's Birthday and for our Friendship day!" We said together while cheering.
