I tried to open my eyes when the alarm rang, I didn't have enough sleep again.

Even though it was against my body, I forced myself to wake up and get ready for today's event.

I went straight to university and went to the library as planned.

"Let's first read some details here in the library. Then we'll split up the documentation after we're done gathering primary information and do it quickly." Mary said as we sat down.

We all just nodded at what Mary said. She has a point, anyway. I don't know if they really did it on purpose or if there was another reason.

We got some books to read regarding the university. We read and wasted some time on them.

"History, the founders, names, big events that happened, unforgettable moments in this university and so on." Luke stated.

"We really need to look deeper." Mary read again from the book she was holding.

We also finished and decided to go our separate ways. It was almost noontime and it was definitely hot.

"Mary and I will go to the Administration's Office." said Luke.

"Alex and I will stay here." said Spence.

"According to our librarian, there are many details here and he will help us search." Alex said with a smile and he and Spence did a high five, tsk.

"I wish he had said that earlier." I said irritably.

"Unfair." Bri and Lannah murmured.

"Sshh, just go with the flow, so it's over." Daph kept us quiet.

"Bri and Daph will tour the left side of the university, while Rave and Lannah will tour the right side of the university." Mary ordered.

"WHAT?! NO!" Lannah and I shouted together.

The six of them gave me threatening looks. I was not informed that I was the distraction to the surprise. Great.

"By any chance we won't be able to have lunch together, it might take us a long time to search and eat with your companions in the meantime." Luke stated. Since when did he act like a leader?

"Before 4:00 p.m. be here at the library." Mary stated.

Hmm, I smell fishy? I looked at the two and just shook my head. We went to our assigned "area", since we had nothing to do.

"Where to start?" I asked, annoyed.

"What should I know? You've been here for a long time, you should know where to go first, you're dead to me if we don't see anything." She said with a tone in her voice.

"I'll just ask the teachers first who pass by, just take a look at the surroundings while waiting, just don't go far away." I told her coldly and she just nodded.

I was going to tell her not to go to the old buildings because it's dangerous, but she's already gone.

Alannah's Point of View :

That man is a complete mess, he's been here for so long that he still hasn't memorized this university.

I was just busy walking around when I stumbled upon the forest-like part of the university. There are quite a few old and big trees here.

The university is really big. Hmm, maybe I can't blame him if he hasn't toured all round yet, even if you stroll around for three days you won't finish the entire tour.

I know that he also has no interest in this stuff and seems afraid of such parts of the school.

"Whoah." An abandoned building with a large tree on both sides immediately caught my attention after minutes of walking deeper.

It was the biggest tree I had ever seen, not only in this school but for my entire life, and the building looked ancient. I walked closer to see a better view.

I felt a little scared, maybe because of the darkness created by the shadows of the trees here and the cold breeze.

I turned the door knob but it didn't open, so I gently pushed the door and it didn't resist.

It was really dark inside, obviously. It's really old because only lamps and candles serve as lights, paintings and pieces of paper and pages are scattered around.

I guess this is the old house of the founder of this school, because there are personal items here; glasses, books and so on. It's also quite big inside. Studious? Or he just really likes books.

I took the stairs to the second floor. It was a little noisy because of the sound of the old woods, even though I was walking slowly, so I was even more scared. It was too silent, it feels like I'm in a horror movie.

It was quite bright inside though, because it was the top floor, and the sun was higher now than before.

The rooms here really are full of books, bookshelves everywhere, so I stopped in one room to see what was written in the book and get the gist of what is stored in this place.

"The Reign of Terror has Ended." I read the title.

I opened it and it was all written in old English words, the rest were pictures, drawings and sketches, the rest had faded due to old age.

"The heir has escaped and is now living a peaceful life. He has no idea of ​​the past. For now." Last sentence on the last page of the book.

"History." I read the title before opening.

In a faraway land there was a great kingdom. The king who founded the country is gifted. Some traits of the gods are seen in him.

He married 3 times, all of his wives died, and no one knows the reason why. He doesn't want to remarry the 4th time, afraid that this might happen again.

The prince, his only son, was sent far from the kingdom to be safe because of chaos coming.

When the prince reached his age of 18, his caretakers told him everything the fact that he decided to go back and help his father.

As he came back, the guards didn't let him pass, and warned him not to return.

He came back dumbfounded. He finds out that the former king is dead. He was killed in the war. The new king is seated now. He planned to build an army, regain his kingdom, bring back honor and give justice to his father's death.

Some parts of the book were burned and others seemed to be torn to the end, so I just walked around the room and looked for another book that would catch my attention.

"Stories untold."

The kingdom was at it's peak for centuries. Everything has its end, everything changed as the new king was crowned.

As the civilization of humanity keeps on evolving, the kingdom cuts their communication to the open world. No one can go out. Once you enter, there's no leaving.

No one knows what's been happening inside the kingdom for years. Until a group of royalty from another country come, they don't know anything.

The prince and the princess of royalty, who came several months before, got married, under the king's order. Sudden catastrophic events happened. There were wars declared against them. Drought, strong storms and other natural calamities came.

The king killed the royalty knowing that it was their fault. He couldn't kill the princess because of his son.

The princess told the prince what was on the outside and taught him some things he didn't know.

I stopped reading when I heard a noise coming on the first floor.

I felt nervous and anxious, and nailed my feet to the floor, not knowing what to do, especially if we met. I heard the footsteps moving towards the stairs, so I hid on the side near the door.

I am sweating cold right now with fear slowly enveloping me. I don't know what to do. Why did I even come here at first, dumb Alannah.

My heart beat faster when there was another noise on the ground floor entering the door, and the first one seemed confused and ran to the room where I was hiding, but we couldn't see each other. I just heard the footsteps of his feet .

I was also sitting on a bookshelf, so he could barely see me. I heard footsteps on the stairs, damn! I was getting more scared at this moment. Because of my fear, I tipped over the bookshelf and a book fell. I picked it up and put it back.

I stiffened as the red-eyed man looked at me and smiled at me. s**t! Why did I reach for the book and pick it up? Lannah, you're so stupid!

"AAAAAHHCK!" I ran out as the smile on his lips got bigger and bigger, and most likely to pounce and kill me. It was terrifying, his melting gaze wasn't helping.

I'm in tears because of what I feel while running. I can't think properly. How to escape this kind of dangerous situation. I don't know what will happen until-

"Ouch!" I bumped my head into a man's chest and I hugged him in no time, probably because of the fear I am feeling now, whoever this person is, he looks kind.

I looked up to see who it was. I cried even more and hugged him tighter. His eyes widened at what I did. Even I, was surprised at why I did that.

Only one thing came to my mind. I'm safe, nothing bad will happen today, especially since it's my birthday, and he's here.

"Why are you crying?" He asked me, laughing a little.

"L-ets g-et out o-of he-re." I said in between sobs while still hugging him.

"Why did you even come here? And why are you crying? What happened, huh?" He asked me as he caressed my back.

"I-t's no-ot sa-fe h-ere." I couldn't speak properly because of crying.

"It's OK, there's no one here, just the two of us. You're not even afraid of me haha, so you have nothing to fear." He's still joking.

He tried to make me feel better. I can't speak anymore, only sobs come out of my mouth.

"Sshh, it's your birthday yet here you are crying." He wiped my tears at the same time.

My forehead wrinkled and I stopped crying a bit. How did he know?

"They might scold me when they see you like this haha." My other tears are still falling.

"Happy Birthday." He said with a smile.
