Traynor reached the western end of the homestead without being detected by anyone inside the house. Crouched low below the decking of the wide veranda surrounding the house, he waited for his breathing and heartbeat to return to normal following his run to reach the homestead. He held his handgun, a Sig Sauer P226 semi-automatic, in a two-handed grip and looked back and forth from the rear end of the veranda to the front, and then back again. He cautiously raised his head and peeked over the base of the veranda.
There were no steps onto the veranda at this end of the house and he would have to climb over the veranda railing if he was to access the interior of the homestead. There were two windows in the end wall, one towards the back of the building and another closer to the front. Bo
