THE HIDDEN BLOODLINE

After rose received that message from a unknown caller, she was uneasy. She was 100 percent sure that there was something she didn’t know about her bloodline – and she was going to find out what it is.
She already told Kira about the message, and they both agreed to investigate it together.
“The problem is where do we start from?” Rose said before handing a glass of juice to Kira.
“Clam down – one step at a time. Since this is my field, leave everything to me.”
Kira brought out a small jotter and pen, where she jotted something – then started reading to Rose.
“According to what I have here: we will start from your pack – maybe they have some information about your birth or your parents, and that’s where Adien comes in”
Rose signed heavily at the mention of Adien’s name, which got Kira’s attention
“Don’t tell me the both of you haven’t made up?”
“We never had issues before – he’s my boss remember?”
“That’s not what I meant”
“Then what exactly do you mean?”
“The mating bond – the both of you haven’t talked about it ? or you’re still mad at him?”
“I’m not mad at him – infact I have forgiven him a long time ago. I just want him to prove himself to me a little – you know …”
“Oh – you’re playing hard to get. You better not do too much. Back to what we were discussing, after your pack, I’m sure we would have gotten something – then we can continue from there”
“Hmmm – good plan”
“You need to tell Adien about this”
“Why?”
She sighed “Because we need his help to access the park’s documents – or do you plan on stealing them? Also you need to ask for a leave”
“Leave? That’s not possible, I just started this job”
“How are you suppose to investigate this then? In your office? We have to visit the park, then follow other leads we get”
“Cant we go on weekends? Or during my off days?”
“No we cant Rose. This is urgent – the longer we waste, the more we’re unsure about the extent of your powers. What if you end up really harming someone against your will – we need to figure out your identity, it’s not something that can wait”
“You’re right. I’ll ask for a leave tomorrow”
The next day at work, after sorting some documents, and making sure Adien was in – Rose went to see him. When she entered Adien was standing facing the large glass in his office, holding a glass of wine. From that glass, he could see everyone below – but people below cant see him. ‘amazing’
“Rose – how are you?” he turned to face me. ‘He looked tired. Is he ok?’
“I’m good sir.”
He sighed and put the glass of win on the table.
“ Looks like you’re still mad at me.”
“I’m not”
“You’ve been avoiding me, and I wanted to respect your personal space”
He kept moving closer to me
“I wasn’t avoiding you sir”
“Stop calling me that”
“Look at me” he said softly, and I shifted my eyes to his. Those beautiful eyes.
He was already so close, I could literally smell his colon. Those eyes looked at me like he was pleading – his cheeks were tainted red. His lips were pouty and full, like it was begging me to kiss him. He was only wear his inner white shirt – his suit and tie was hanged on the hanger beside his desk. So his shirt button was opened, down to the third button. He was mesmerizing.
I have always seen Adien to be a dominant alpha. Cold. Stoic. Controlling. But recently, the more I look at him. I just realized how wrong I was. He’s just a cute soft guy craving for love and attention, but had to hid and camouflage to fit the status of an alpha.
“Rose – you’re ignoring me”
“I wasn’t”
He held my hands “You were. I called you twice but you didn’t answer”
“Rose I’m sorry”
“Adien – this isn’t why I’m here” I could see his face drop in disappointment
“ Ok – why are you here?”
“I want to ask for a leave”
“Why are you sick?”
“No – I want to investigate my identity, so I need sometime off work”
“I could find someone who would find out everything about your bloodline”
“No I want to do this myself”
“Ok I’ll respect that. Do you want me to come with you?”
“No Kira will go with me”
“Oh Kira… Ok. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask me”
“I actually need your help with getting information from the pack about my past”
“That wont be hard. I’ll take you to the park’s library to check yourself”
“Just like that? Won’t that cause problems for you?”
“Well – what do you want me to do? Say no? it’s the least I could do for you. Also, you can take as long as you want, just take it as a sick leave”
“Thank you”
“Don’t mention”
“No really – thank you Adien.”
“Hmm”
Rose turned to leave, but suddenly stopped on her track, before walking towards Adien who was shocked. She grabbed his hair and kissed him. The kiss was gentle – No. it was aggressive. Like a craving finally satisfied. Adien recovered from his shock, held her waist tightly, with his other hand on her neck too. They were both fighting for dominance, until Rose bit Adien’s lip very hard that it drew blood, causing Adien to moan in pain. Then she stopped, looked at the shocked Adien.
“ We will talk properly when I get back ok?”
Adien replied in a daze “Ok”
Then Rose walked out of the office, leaving a shocked Adien, who had his hands on his torn lips.
The first thing that came to Adien’s mind after she left was ‘f**k – what just happened? Did I just moan? That was so hot’
The next day, Rose and Kira visited the Pack. It was in the morning, a lot of people had gone to their working place, others busy with one thing or the other – so no one really gave them attention.
“Adien is really doing a good work here I must say”
“Yes he is” the place was so different from before, positively.
They met a beta who welcomed them, directing them to the library as instructed by the alpha. They got to the library, and was taken to the section were the records on the pack members were documented.
After spending hours searching, they were only able to find out her mother’s full name ‘Mara Miles’. It stated that she was an omega, nothing special. She brought Rose to the pack when Rose was little, then suddenly disappeared. According to Rose’s memory, she woke up one morning alone – she waited and waited, but her mother never came back.
Some said she had died in the woods, others said she abandoned her daughter for greener pastures. Rose doesn’t even remember what her mother looks like anymore.
It was a dead end. No information before coming to the pack. No relatives. No husband. Nothing. ‘How am I supposed to know anything now’.
“This is strange. How can there be no records of her?” Kira murmured
Suddenly they heard a deliberate cough from behind – looking at who it was, it turned out to be an old man. Rose remembered who he was. He was among the elders during the reign of Adien’s dad, but after Adien took over, this elder retired for no reason.
“Good day Elder… sorry I can’t remember your name”
“Of course you can’t Rose”
‘I’m surprised he still remembers my name’
He sat down on an empty seat beside Kira’s seat, since the both ladies were standing as a sign of respect for the elderly man.
“You wont find anything here because someone took all the information about your mother”
“You knew my mother?” Rose asked surprised
“Who took the information?” Kira also asked
The old man chuckled “One question at a time ladies”
“Sorry” the both of them apologized
“I knew you mother Mara. She was exceptional. I have never met a woman like her till today”
“It was rumored that she was no ordinary wolf. Even as an omega, she could defeat an alpha wolf. No one knew why she came here, or why she suddenly disappeared. But if you want to know everything, you have to go to ‘The Outer Wards’”
“The Outer Ward? Where’s that?” Rose asked
“That’s where they have the highest population if omegas, a lot of illegal s**t goes on there. I have been trying to get a lead there, but it’s tight – I was only able to find out recently, that that place is controlled by Lucian Kian” Kira replied
“That’s elder Lucian” Rose asked surprised
“Don’t be surprised yet, until you find out everything” the elder said, before standing up
“And Rose – it was nice seeing you again” then he left
“Leave the Outer Ward for me. I have an insider”
“Will this insider be able to get the information?”
“Of course”
“Ok that’s a relief. Let go – we’re done here”
A message popped into my phone, I looked at it was from Adien.
Adien: ‘How was it? Were you able to get what you need? Have you eaten?’
Me: ‘Not completely, but we have a plan. And no I haven’t eaten yet’
Adien: ‘you shouldn’t skip meals. Where exactly are you? I’ll order food to you and Kira’
Me: ‘We’re just leaving the pack house. We’re heading to Kira’s place’
Adien: ‘Ok. I’ll put Kira’s home address. What is it?’
Me: ‘xxx apartment No 204’
Adien: ‘ok done’
Me: ‘Thank you Adien. You’re so sweet’
Adien: ‘You mean the kiss?’
Me: ‘What are you thinking?’
Adien: ‘I wasn’t thinking anything. Anyways I’ll talk to you later – miss you’
Me: ‘Me too. Bye’
