THE ELDER'S MEETING

Lucian decided to visit Adien in his company after Diana had told him that in other for him to request a meeting with Rose, he needed to go to the company where she works, and makes sure that Adien doesn’t finds out about it.
Without any appointment, he was directed to Adien’s office. Adien’s P.A told him about the meeting that was ongoing, so he had to wait. Few minutes later, the meeting was finally over.
“Elder Lucian you came without an appointment. I would believe it’s something urgent”
Adien sounded pissed, maybe because of the stress of the meeting, or from seeing an uninvited guest, who is definitely here to ruin his day further.
“No really Adien. I came because I had something important I needed to confirm from you”
“I’m all ears”
Elder Lucian cleared his throat before speaking in a low voice
“there have been rumors spreading about you finding a second chanced mate, and her being your former mate who you rejected”
Adien chuckled in a satire way before saying “ I didn’t know you’re one to listen to rumors Elder Lucian”
“Of course not, that’s why I came directly to you to get the full truth instead of listening to outside talk”
Meanwhile, Mr Corner had left, and with no one guarding the outside door, Rose had no idea that Adien was having an important conversation with Elder Lucian. She tried knocking, but she suddenly hear the conversation going on inside. She wasn’t sure if it was her wolf sudden enhanced hearing abilities, or that Adien and the elder were loud. But she just stood upright in other not to look suspicious, while listening attentively.
“Well the rumors are true. Rose is my second chanced mate and my former mate”
“How sure are you that this isn’t some kind of sorcery or conspiracy. I mean isn’t it too much of a coincidence that she happens to start working here immediately after getting rejected, or that she changed her appearance, and suddenly, she’s your second chanced mate? “
“What are you trying to imply elder Lucian?”
“Nothing at all. I just want you to see this from a clear perspective. She’s not an ordinary wolf”
“Which you knew about from the start, but kept me in the dark”
“I did had my suspicions, but it was all to protect you, and the pack”
“Enough Elder Lucian. This is my personal life, I don’t need you to interfere again”
“But you do know that this doesn’t just about you, you’re the alpha, so anything that affects you, affect the pack also. For all we know, she could be using some sort of means to manipulate you.”
Adien could already feel the headache coming with full force ‘look who is talking about manipulation’.
“Elder Lucian, first of all thank you very much for you concern about me, and the pack, but from now on please refrain from getting involved with my personal life and decisions. Your work ends with issues of the pack. From now, I will be the one to judge my mate, or make any decisions concerning her. Thank you very much”
“Also when next you want to come here, make sure you have an appointment. I’m not running a school organization where you and Diana could just walk in any time you want”
At the mention of Diana’s name, elder Lucian froze in his tracks, because it means Adien had suspected that he and Diana were working together, and coming here to confront him only confirmed his suspicion. Truly, Adien did suspect that they were working together, that was why he purposely told Diana everything about the mating bond with Rose. No one else except him, Rose herself, Kira, Rose friend, who wont tell others to protect Rose, Jarren, who doesn’t even talk much, and Diana. So for elder Lucian to know, it means someone among them had told him, and who else if not Diana. There were so many flaws he purposely included when telling Diana, also with elder Lucian reaction to the mention of Diana’s name, it means she told him.
Rose on the other hand left with a slight smile of her face, after she had heard enough.
Elder Lucian entered the elevator taking him to the lower floor, when Rose suddenly entered. Honestly, Rose was going to the lower floor to get something from a colleague, so she didn’t expect to see Elder Lucian on the elevator. ‘didn’t he leave since, what is he still doing here?’
She entered while offering a slight bow of greeting to him which he responded. Inside the elevator was so quite that Rose could literary hear his heartbeat. Her senses had improved a lot lately. ‘was it because of my wolf?’
“Rose right?”
She looked at him before nodding slightly
“What position do you hold here?”
“A high enough position”
She answered with sarcasm
“Are you and Adien seeing each other?”
‘what kind of stupid question is that?’
Rose remained silent, for some reasons, she didn’t want to pass any information to this man. And she felt like he knew a lot about her, and he’s trying to get information out of her. She never liked him anyways, from the beginning. This man is involved in a lot of shady business even Adien isn’t aware of. The only thing he values is power, and he will cling onto anything that gives him that power he wants.
After she has gotten to the floor she wanted to go, the elevator opens, and just as she was about to step out, elder Lucian said something strange.
"Your mother had silver eyes too."
He said it like he knew her mother personally. ROSE never knew her mother.
‘what does he mean? Did he knew my mother? What’s his purpose for saying this?’
Elder Lucian also steps out of the elevator after getting the desired reaction from Rose,. With a satisfactory look, he walked past the frozen Rose, and left the building.
Rose had stood there for over 10 minutes, took out her phone, and dialed Kira’s number.
“Hello Rose?”
“Something is very wrong”
