MY NEW BOSS IS MY EX MATE

HE LANDS, SHE GETS THERE FIRST

For the past few days Adien and Rose has been talking through phone, both of them forming a bond unnoticed even to them. That day when Adien had told Rose that wanted to tell her something when he came back, she was suddenly brought back to reality ‘What does he want to tell me? Did Diana tell him?’ She realized that all these while she has been enjoying Adien’s company totally forgetting the storm but now that it has come to this, she decided to tell him as soon as possible even though there is a possibility that he already know the truth.

Adien tried chatting Rose before he boarded his flight but she didn’t respond so he assumed she must be busy. After landing he tried calling her to tell her that he is back, for some reason he wanted to hear how excited she is and know if she missed him because he did. But since she wasn’t answering, he decided to go straight to the office to see her because he was already feeling anxious for no reason.

Adien drove directly to the office, his P.A was shocked to see him, he expected him to come tomorrow or next since it was a long week so Adien need rest but he is here instead.

“Sir why are here? If you needed anything, you could have just called me to bring it over to your house instead of coming personally”

“Don’t worry I won't stay long, I just need to see Rose---- where is she?”

“Miss Rose? I think she’s in her office --- do you need me to call her?”

“Yes please, tell her to come to my office”

“ok sir”

Mr Corner kept wondering what was so important that Mr Reanon had to come personally to see Rose, the project was going smoothly as planned, so why does he look so anxious but he pushed the thoughts at the back of his mind as he entered the general office to call Rose

“Mis Rose?” he stood beside her which got the attention of other staff present

Rose turned away from her computer to see Mr Corner standing beside her

“Oh Mr Corner good day--- how may I be of help to you?”

“Mr Reanon wants to see you immediately”

Surprised Rose asked “He’s back? But didn’t the conference end yesterday?”

“Yes he just came back, I don’t know why he rushed here and asked to see you”

Rose suddenly felt guilty because she saw his messages and calls but had refused to reply or answer because she didn’t want to keep deceiving herself. She knew that Adien only started coming close when he found out she was his second chance mate and also maybe because he felt guilty for what he did to his first mate so he just wanted to make up for it, imagine now finding out both your first mate and second mate are both the same person.

“Ok I’m behind you”

She arranged her things before following Mr Corner to Mr Reanon’s office ‘lets do this’

When they entered the office, Adien signaled Mr Corner to leave. He looked tired, which isn’t surprising since he came directly from the airport and haven’t had a good rest. He was leaning on the table while Rose stood a few meters from him, both of them staring at each other waiting for who will speak first.

While Rose was expecting something else, Adien walked slowly towards her and hugged her. The hug was warm and tight with so much emotions like he has been holding it in.

“I miss you” He said beside her left ear almost like a whisper

Rose felt her body stiffen ‘Its now or never’

Before Adien could say another word, sshe cut him

“There’s something I need to tell you”

Adien released her from the embrace waiting for her to continue but still holding her hands

“My name is Rose Mile, I was you former mate who you rejected and now your second chance mate” Rose said calmly, directly watching his face after she removed her hands from Adien’s warm own

“What?” Adien’s voice came out like a whisper, his reaction was that of shock, shame, confusion, and the unmistakable look of a man whose world just rearranged itself.

“It's really unbelievable right? I also didn’t believe at first but it’s the truth. I never planed for it to be this way, I just wanted the job but then I found out you were the CEO but since you didn’t recognized me, I felt everything would be fine not until Diana did some digging and threatened me---- I’m not a coward, and there’s no way I’d let her have that head over me. So I came to tell you myself” she said without giving him any dramatic speech

“but—but you look---”

“My wolf suddenly awaken the day you rejected me, I woke up looking like this and I still can’t explain how it happened”

There was silence, then she just said "I don't want the bond. I want to keep my job. Can we be professional?"

Those sentence alone were like a hammer shattering a glass, at this point Adien didn’t know what to do, he just sat on the couch, his both hands covering his face. He didn’t want Rose to see his tears filled eyes.

Rose felt a shift in the atmosphere, her wolf restless and she felt like she would burst with emotions, emotions she didn’t want Adien to see. She knew she loved him, but after that night she was rejected by this same man, she promised herself not to make the same mistake twice and let any man toil with her feelings, so she quickly left without waiting for his responses.

Adien heard the door slammed, he knew she had left but he still couldn’t bring his head up, he had suspected that she was someone he knew, her aura, the way she talked, the way she walked even the way she carried herself with so much confidence and dominance, he knew that feeling was familiar. That was the same way he felt toward his former mate, even though he tried not to admit it, he still felt it in his bone that she wasn’t an ordinary wolf. He remembered one time he had met her, his wolf suddenly wanted to submit to her like it was a natural thing, it took him a while before he was able to come out of that trance, then he tried to convince himself that he was tired and hallucinating but knew that he wasn’t and if he hadn’t left, he would have really submit to her. And to think her wolf wasn’t awaken then.

To think they were actually the same person and her awakening had led to a total transformation, right now he really felt like he had no way to redeem himself.
