CHAPTER 4— THE DYNAMIC SHIFTS IMMEDIATELY

It’s Monday morning and also Rose first full day working in E$R BIO-TECH, she had received an email during the weekend about her transfer into team A, she did some digging and finds out that team A is supposedly a team of experts formed by Adien himself for an ongoing project which simply means now she has been transferred there, she will be seeing more of him---- but it’s fine anyways since she already decided to leave the past in the past and earn money, as long as Adien doesn’t recognize her, she will keep working here.

She walks to the office she was directed to, immediately she entered, it seem like everyone paused to look at her. A man who seem to be a beta stood up to welcome her in a sarcastic manner

“Everyone the queen herself is here”

The whole room burst with laughter and whisper, she could obviously tell they were gossiping about her before she entered but they should at least pretend and welcomed her genuinely.

She smiled like nothing happened before responding

“ Good day everyone, my name is Rose Mile and I’m the new member of the team, please take good care of me”

Some people smiled because they found her amusing, some snickered while some just ignored her entirely --- only God knows the rumor that has been passed around about her that caused this behavior. She slowly walked to her assigned space which already her laptop and company’s ID. A young lady drew her chair toward her before greeting her

“Hi--- I’m Anna”

“I’m Rose”

“Nice meeting you Rose and welcome to the team--- don’t mind them, they’re just pissed that a newbie was added to the team”

“oh… nice meeting you too Anna”.

The young man who introduced her sarcastically walked in front of her deck

“Miss Mile, no offense, we’re just surprised a newbie like you was added to our team--- you see I am an expert in bio chemistry with over 20 years of experience, even for me it wasn’t quite easy to enter the team, same for everyone here but you---- when did you graduate from uni again?”

“last year” she answered calmly

“see… last year, no experience, no expertise, nothing--- if you ask me, I think you used underhand and shameful methods to maneuver your way here--- besides it’s not surprising for an omega to curry favors with men”

Anna refuted him “ You’re going too far Mr peter--- are you saying every omega here used shameful methods to enter this team”

“I don’t remember talking to you young lady” Mr Peter replied Anna harshly

“Mr peter, I understand where you’re coming from but that still doesn’t give you any right to use those words you used--- firstly, I have a lot of experience if that’s what you’re concerned about, before graduating I did my internship in various companies and got certified so I don’t see myself inferior to anyone. Since I’m here, I really hope to learn a lot from all of you--- secondly, I don’t like people slandering me, so how about we both take this issue to Mr REANON, to confirm if I got my position through underhand method, even I want to know…are you free now so we can go?”

Mr Peter was surprised at her boldness and scared that she might really report to Mr REANON, everyone knows how Mr Reanon never involves in office romance, he’s so strict with his female workers and won’t allow any form of misbehavior. The last woman who tried to seduce Mr Reanon by wearing exposing clothes and even had the audacity to flirt with him was immediately sacked and thrown out. Since them, everyone respected themselves around him.

The only woman who has even been a little close to him was his ex, Miss Diana. They dated for years before suddenly breaking up but still remained close friend or not, because it’s obvious she still tried to get back together with him. Some rumor going around then was that he broke up with her after finding out she wasn’t his mate, which is what any sane person would do, allowing the other person find their mate but Diana has kept clinging to him even after all these years.

Everybody goes back to their sits after Mr Peter was scared off while Rose went to the restroom.

After Rose finished using the restroom about to come out, she overhears the conversation between two ladies

“She even has the nerve to walk around with her head high--- so shameless”

“ Come on, she might have really entered the team because she has some level of skill”

“what skill can a newbie omega have--- besides no matter how good she is, she can't be compared to others with years of experience, who worked very hard to earn that position but she just entered and feels like she’s special”

“Isn’t she supposed to feel special, after all she’s leaking the CEO’s lollipop” they both chuckled before the second lady continued

“But It’s quite surprising because the CEO doesn’t do office romance even when he was dating Miss Diana, also did he break up with Miss Diana just to start with Miss Rose? I thought the rumor said he found his mate--- or is she his mate?”

“That can’t be true, if Miss Rose was really his mate, why act like strangers --- maybe it’s just a fling”

Before they could continued their gossip, the door was pushed open forcefully and Rose walks out to wash her hands like she didn’t hear all the gossip. The ladies were startled and ran out in shame, Rose was in deep thought while washing her hands

‘Come to think of it, I never asked to be on team A, why did he put me there? It can’t be because he recognized me--- so why?’

After washing her hands, she looked at her reflection in the mirror before taking a deep breath and walks out of the restroom.

At noon, Mr Reanon’s P.A came to inform the team A that the CEO want’s to see all of them, so they all went to the meeting room. Getting to the meeting room, Mr Reanon was already seated at his usual sit waiting for them, for a second Rose felt his gaze at her but acted like she didn’t notice. The meeting started with the P.A giving the agenda of the meeting, later a member was called upon by Mr Reanon to present the project but he kept making silly mistakes and this pissed off Adien. Later he asked the member, who was the one that prepared the presentation which the member pointed Mr Peter who also went stiff immediately.

“Mr Peter what do you have to say” Adien asked him with a stoic expression

“I’m really sorry sir--- I’ll make corrections”

“Correction on what? What are you correcting exactly?”

Mr Peter couldn’t respond because even the presentation was not prepared by him.

“Can anybody tell me the mistake he made?” the question was thrown to other members while Mr Peter kept standing with his head bent down, but no one could answer and the room was silent.

“Rose can you tell us?”

Rose stood up confidently while everyone was expecting her to be quite she answered “The mistakes were on the records--- I noticed the percentage of each chemical was not included”

Adien was surprised she could notice the abnormalities so he went further asking and even for her to explain each detail, so Rose stood in front of everyone better at everything than expected and naturally starts directing, organizing, and correcting --- not aggressively, just competently. ADIEN finds himself staring and listening to her without meaning to. He became irritated and intrigued at the same time, he always felt like there was something about Rose that he couldn’t place his hands on and it wasn’t even just because of how she looks or carries herself, it was something deeper.

Rose finished presenting instead and everyone clapped including Adien, but just as she was walking to her sit, she released the breathe she has been holding which in the process, she unknowingly release her pheromones faintly before quickly retrieving it so no one notice.

But Adien who was looking through the document suddenly sniffs the air.

He caught her scent and freezes. Something about it felt familiar.
