Ch.5 Their First Face to Face Meeting

Selene finally looked me in the eye with shock, “that’s, that’s not possible.” She paused and her eyes seemed to glaze over as if looking for an answer within her memories. “How is this not possible? Have the fates show you the visions they showed me.” I replied. Selene shook her head, “no, that’s not what I meant my lord.” She paused with a sigh, “What I meant was that we are unable to be destined to a mortal. Only other gods and Demi gods. Meaning, your current mate is one, or the other.” I felt my blood go cold, what did she say? That girl? That girl is a Demi god? But how? There isn’t anyone in the pantheon that has had any mortal lovers or even an affair. “I can see and sense your confusions my lords,” seems like Selene notices not just my confusion, she turned to Hades before she continued, “as you are aware my lord, the draw to your wife, that pull?” Hades’ eyes widened and nodded before replying, “continue, I am too confused as to how this works.” Selene nodded before stating, “I will have to say this before I explain further,” she paused to not direct her attention to all of us, “I have no control over our destined relationships. I only have the ability to choose for my own children.” She paused again, her head began to hang low as she continued, “all though the creation titans are sealed, they are still able to effect the world as we know it. Which is probably why you sense your powers are deteriorating, which is why-” Another pause, gods I wish she’d just get to the damn point without the suspense. I thought. Selene took another breath as to steady herself before us brothers, “which is why Hades was entranced by my father.” I can sense her tears, on instinct the three of us approached with an aura of concern. She stepped back before she continued, “this control is called hypnosis, otherwise the definition of our kin, Hypnos.” A growl left the three of us, what was this?! Our kin working with the titans to free them, to cause chaos to rule this world and all worlds once more! “If we may interject my lords,” the fates said in unison. I completely forgot they were there as I turned to them in fury, I can sense their pain as my aura engulfed them. “Brother,” Hades spoke and gently placed his hand on my right shoulder. “Let them speak, this may be a part of a bigger prophecy.” As my aura lessened, the fates continued in unison, “All kin of the ancient gods shall fall to mortality before the Titans rise once again. All shall be lost in the shadow of their return, unless the ancient bonds are rekindled and the thrones of old are claimed by their rightful heirs. Kin shall turn upon kin, those who have strayed from their destined path. The sea and the sky shall unite, as the Underworld awakens, joining the world in the coming war. Only through this union will the curse be undone, and the Titans, once more, shall be cast into slumber.” The words hung heavy in the air, a prophecy woven from the threads of fate itself. A dark whisper of what was to come. Before I could even process the flood of questions that surged in my mind, before I could demand any answers or seek understanding, a sharp, invisible force threw me from Olympus, back into the confines of my mortal body. The abrupt shift left my thoughts scattered. What just happened? No one—no being—should have the power to do this, except... A faint, haunting chuckle—deep and undeniably feminine—echoed through the silence. I gasped, my breath sharp and ragged, as I jolted upright. My senses surged back to life, but the disorientation was overwhelming. The world around me slowly came into focus. The oppressive stillness was shattered by a distant scream, one that seemed to vibrate through my very soul. My eyes snapped to her—HER. For a moment, words failed me. I stared at her, unable to breathe. Her eyes—dark, hypnotic purple—pulled me in, locking me in place. My mind reeled, but I couldn’t form a coherent thought. My voice cracked as I tried to speak. "What..." How long had it been? Minutes? Hours? My mind was blank, frozen in the horror of it all. Slowly, my gaze shifted from her eyes to the scene around me, and I could finally utter a question, though it came out strained, distant. "What happened?" Her actions were sudden—too sudden. She snatched up her phone with an ease that suggested she was waiting for this moment. Her fingers moved with practiced precision, the screen lighting up as she spoke into it. "I’m sorry, Maddie. He suddenly woke up, and it startled me." Her voice was calm, but something beneath it hinted at the faintest edge of unease. Her eyes flicked down to my university badge, then back to me, her gaze lingering longer than necessary, assessing. I couldn’t hold back the flood of emotion any longer. "Do you know what happened here? Are you alright?" My voice trembled, and I hated how weak it sounded. But this... she... This woman. She was my destined partner. The one whose fate was sealed with mine in a cruel twist of destiny. I could feel the weight of her presence, the terrifying beauty of it, and the crushing reality that I was caught in the grip of something beyond my control. The tears welled up, despite my every effort to hold them back. How? How could this be? She was here, alive, right before me. I could see her, touch her, feel her—everything I had longed for after millennia of searching. But the truth crushed me: if the destiny that had been written for us remained unaltered, she would die by my hand. I would be the one to take her life. The thought of it—the certainty of it—gnawed at my insides. How could I face such a fate? How could I lose her before I’d even truly had her? After a few short words on her mobile and placed the phone between us, brushing her finger tips close to my thigh, what felt like electricity surged up my thigh to my member. I won't lie, as a god, I should be pleased. But at this very moment, I was horrified. How could I be aroused at this moment? She is trembling with fear and I want to do all sorts of unspeakably naughty things to her petite but curvy frame. "Hello, sir?" A voice rang through the telephone, jerking my attention back to the device. "How may I assist you, miss?" The words slipped out before I could stop them, but my gaze never wavered from the woman before me—this vision of beauty that seemed to hold the very air around her. "I have some questions to ask before help arrives. You may call me Maddie," the voice replied, calm and professional. Help? Who needed help? The dread bloomed in my chest. Please tell me I didn’t hurt her. Please tell me that whatever chaotic visions I saw weren't becoming reality!
