Her Unforgettable Mate

Chapter 10

    "You were attacked by a rogue that was missed by the final sweep," Luna Maya responded as she reached for his hand. "The rogue wolf managed to knock you unconscious and try to kill you. You were brought into the hospital and had to have surgery." A grim expression on her face as she glanced towards what remained of his left arm. He followed her gaze, as he saw what was left of his arm, causing him to suck in a sharp breath. 

    "Everything will be okay dad," Freya said. 

    "I'm afraid that my reign as Alpha is nearing and end." 

    "Sir, what do you mean by that?" Andrew inquired. 

    "I mean that with my injury, other packs might see that as our pack is weak and might attack," Alpha Damien stated. Looking between Andrew and Freya he said, "Kids, can you let Maya and talk for a few minutes?" 

    "Sure thing dad," Freya said as she got up and planted a kiss on his cheek. Andrew got up following her to the door, grabbing her hand in the process. Closing the door behind him, he turned to Freya, bringing his hands up to cup her face. 

    "Everything will be alright Freya,"he said while looking into her blue eyes. "I understand that you are upset and scared, alright? But, your father is okay. He will live, even though he was injured. Everything will be okay." He smiled at her. 

    "I know, but-" 

    "No buts. We will get through this, okay?" He smiled lightly at her.

    "Okay," she said in a small voice.

    "You both can come back in now," Maya said to them with a small smile. They both turned too look at her, nodding their heads. Andrew turned back to look back at Freya, noticing her gaze was still on the door. 

    "Hey," he said, grabbing her chin lightly with his fingers, forcing her to look him in the eyes "Everything will be okay Freya," he said as he gently kissed her forehead.

    "I know but, I am still scared." 

    "And that is okay, but I am here for when you need me," he replied with a smile. "Let's go back in before they start to worry," Andrew said while tugging her hand towards the door. 

    Both the Alpha and Luna looked at them as they walked in. Andrew sitting down down in the chair by the bed, pulling Freya into his lap and putting his arms around her.

    "You both must be wondering about what we talked about," Alpha Damien said while looking between Andrew and Freyas' confused faces. "We have decided to step down from our positions and let you two take over as Alpha and Luna."

    Both Andrew and Freyas' mouths hung open in surprise, and Andrew was the first to regain his composure. "Sir, I mean no disrespect, but I'm a human. How would I be able to help lead a pack of werewolves?"

    "I would have to turn you into a werewolf," the Alpha said with a shrug.

    "Dad... a-are you sure about this? Andrew and I haven't talked about this yet, and he doesn't know the ways of the pack."

    "What do you mean by turn me?" Andrew looked at the Alpha with confusion.

    "Yes, I am sure. Andrew, truthfully, any werewolf can change you, but in order for you to become the Alpha of this pack, Freya would need to bite you in order to inject the Alpha dna into your bloodstream." Damien explained. "As for not knowing the ways of this pack, you have the three of us to help you." 

    Andrew just stared at him in surprise for a few moments before Freya poked him in the side, causing him to look at her. "What would the rest of the pack think about someone who was never apart of this pack, let alone not knowing that this world even existed until a week ago?"

    "We would hold a mating ceremony for you two, but before that we would inject you with the dna. Once you have healed from the transformation and shift for the first time, we would hold an Alpha ceremony, where you would take up the mantle of Alpha, and Freya as Luna."

    "Ma-Mating..ceremony?" Andrew could feel the the blood rushing to is face as he looked to Freya. He immediately understood what he meant as he saw her eyes darken with lust. "What does that entail exactly?"

    "Well, you two would have to mate completely, which would be easier after after you have transformed." 

    Andrew looked back into the startling blue eyes of Freya, seeing that she was staring back at him he asked, "Is this what you want?" She nodded her head vigorously. "How long would the transformation last?"

    "It depends on the person the dna came from. A weaker bloodline could have you changing for up to a week, but since our bloodline is stronger than most, I'd say no more than 48 hours. Do you want me to call the doctor in?" 

    Andrew looked at at Freya for a few seconds, without taking his eyes away from hers he said, "Let's do this."

    Within a few moments, Dr. White walked in carrying a tray. "I hear that there are going to be some changes around here," setting the tray down on one of the bedside tables while looking at Andrew. "The Alpha explained most of what is going to happen, but let me reiterate. The transformation is not a pleasant one, it will hurt, but it will be easier with with your mate. As you may have noticed, being with your mate can improve your mood, especially in this case, Freya will be the only person to take away some of the pain. She will need to bite you hard enough and long enough for her dna to be injected. Now do you have any questions?"

    "Um... yea actually. What happens after the transformation?" Andrew asked. 

    "Well with how much pain you are going to go through, you will need to rest and recuperate for a few days. If you two want to get ready in the next room, I am going to check up on the Alpha, I will be over in a few minutes."

    With that they both got up, Freya giving her parents a smile as they walked towards the door with nervous steps. In the hall, Andrew intertwined his hand with hers and pulled her towards the next room, opening the door, he pulled her inside walking over to the bed and sitting down on it, she laid down beside him, wrapping her arms around him. 

    "Are you sure you want to do this?" she asked Andrew. 

    "Yes, it is. I know that we haven't known each other long, but I feel a very strong connection to this pack and an even stronger one to you," he said while placing a light kiss on her forehead. She responded by wrapping her arms around him even tighter while gazing into his eyes. Freya leaned forward until their faces were mere inches apart. Glancing at his lips and then back to his eyes. Just then there was knock at the door, ruining the moment.

    "I'm sorry if I interrupted anything, but I was wondering if there were any more questions you had for me?" Dr. White asked.

    "Yea, so what will happen during the change?" Andrew inquired.

    "You are going to be in pain for most of the time, but with Freya here, it shouldn't be too bad. Your skin is going to feel like you have an itch right under your skin. When you do finally change, all of your senses will be heightened, so i suggest we close the blinds a bit before hand," he explained while moving towards the window. "Now Freya, all you have to do to start the transformation is to bite him, it doesn't really matter where, but near the neck is the most effective. If anything seems wrong, don't hesitate to call me or a nurse over." 

    Dr. White moved over to a closet and pulled out a hospital gown and handed it to Andrew. "This might be a bit more comfortable. I will be just outside, let me know if you need anything."
