Chapter 8

"Wait... you guys are mates?" Kevin looked between Andrew and Freya in disbelief.     "As it turns out, yes, Freya and I are mates. Now all i came here to do was to get some clothes and a couple of things before going back to Blue moon." He said as Freya and him went to his bedroom to pack, "there is a suitcase under my bed, can you grab it please?," Andrew started to pull open drawers and his closet, gathering shorts and shirts and other essentials. He moved to the bathroom to put his toiletries in his toiletry bag and some shampoo and body wash in a ziploc bag so they don't leak on his clothes. With nearly everything packed, he decided to grab his suits. Andrew only had a couple pair of suits, but there might be an unexpected occasion that would call for one.     "Alright, I think I have everything that I need, would you mind grabbing my duffel and suit bag please?" he asked Freya.     "Of course," she replied with a smile. They made their way downstairs and to the car, putting the bags in the trunk, Freya stopped as her eyes clouded. "F**K!" She nearly screamed, having Andrew rush over asking what was wrong.     "Rogues, My pack is being attacked by rogues. We have to go now."     "How fast can you drive this car?" Andrew asked while climbing into the passenger side.     "Just watch," Freya said as she hit the gas and tore out of the parking lot. It took them about a third of the time to get back, because Freya had the car going over a hundred most of the time, making Andrew mutter curses every time she nearly missed something.      "I need you to go to the safe room with the women and children. I know you don't want to hear this, but, you are in no shape to fight. Do you know how to use a gun?"     "Yea, why?     "Open the glove box." He as she said and found a shiny metallic gun in a leather holster. "That gun has silver bullets in it, the only thing that will kill a werewolf, so don't just shoot all willy nilly, only at wolves with bright red eyes, since you can't smell them yet. They also look more worn out," she paused. "I need you to stay in the safe room, no matter what. Until me or my father open the safe room door, promise me.'     "I can help though, I can do more."     "What you are doing is helping," she smiled sadly. "I need you to do this for me because I can't lose you. I can't lose you after years of searching for you."     ".. okay," he said as they pulled into the garage. "Where is the safe room?"     "The rug in front of the stairs, pull that away to reveal a door with a numbered lock on it. The code is 06051993."     "Okay," he said shrugging off the sling and rolling his shoulder a bit, even though it still hurt, he ignored the pain. "Hey," Andrew said as he turned Freya around to look at him with watery eyes. "It is going to be alright, I trust you and i trust the alpha, just be careful out there, okay?" he said while placing a light kiss on her forehead before giving her a tight hug before letting her go and heading towards the stairs. Removing the carpet to reveal a door, putting in the code, he paused before before entering the last number, as he could hear something snarling behind him.     Andrew slowly turned around as he chambered a round in the gun he was holding, only to see a wolf that was as big as Freya's, but not nearly as beautiful. This wolf had bright red eyes, foam coming out of it's mouth, and skin that looked like it was about to fall off. Andrew knew that he would only have one chance, and if he missed, that that would be the end of him and since he was the only one standing between the rogue and a room full of women and children.     As the wolf leaped towards him almost faster than he could see, Andrew pulled the rigger and the echo of a gunshot resonating in the living room. As he had thought, he got lucky as the wolf lay there bleeding, but not breathing as it's eyes closed.      Feeling like he was going to vomit, Andrew turned around an came face to face with two more red eyed wolves. "Well s**t, " as he continued to fight the wolves as more gunshots rang out.     *Not too far away from the pack house.*     Both Freya and her father perked their ears as they heard the gunshots. "What was that?" the alpha asked.     "That was hopefully Andrew, I gave him the pistol from the car to defend himself because he is still human," she said through the mind link as she tore into another rogue, seperating his head from his shoulders. "I am going to make my way to the pack house, gunshots only mean one thing, rogues," she said as she took off, her paws pounding the earth as they took her closer to her mate.     As she arrived, she could smell blood. The dirty copper smell of the rogue's blood, but also human. No, no no no no.. she thought as she quickly shifted, not caring that she was naked. What she saw frightened her, even for a werewolf. There were several bodies on the floor and blood covering most of the surfaces. She heard a grunt and some shuffling behind the couch, she started to pace towards the sound at a crouch and with a growl, she pounced on.. Andrew?     "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, are you okay?" she apologized helping him up and noticing the several deep cuts and claw marks on his body.      "I'm okay, i just need to rest," he said as he tried to calm his breathing.     "You did all of this?" she asked as he nodded.     "I ran out of bullets, so i grabbed the swords that was above the fireplace, I didn't know that it was silver, but it did the job," Andrew said, pointing to the swords by his feet, which made them both laugh, making him wince in pain. Which made them look at each other, until he noticed that she had no clothes in front of him, as he turned tomato red. Andrew found a semi clean blanket as he wrapped her in it.      "Thank you," she said, " Thank you for putting the pack before yourself and protecting them. Let me clean those for you." Freya said looking at the scratches, they weren't deep but there were quite a few of them. After cleaning the small ones, she noticed that his stitches had been ripped open. "You are going to need those to be restitched, other wise it won't heal properly," as she wrapped his shoulder so it wouldn't bleed all over. She led him down to the hospital so he can get some proper help. They had reached his temporary hospital room when she stopped, and then started to cry uncontrollably.     "What's wrong?" he asked.     "My dad has been hurt, badly." They watched as two pack members carried the unconscious and wounded Alpha into a hospital room, followed by several nurses and the doctor.      "Oh my... I'm so sorry. Here put this on, and let's both rest and then we will go see how he is doing, it looks like it will take awhile for him to wake up," he said while handing her a hospital gown, as she helped him out of what was left of his shirt and pants, handing him a gown in return.      A nurse came in shortly, checking them both for injuries.     " Let me stitch your shoulder up, and then I'll wrap your smaller cuts," the nurse told Andrew. "I'll give you a mild painkiller as well. The Alpha is in surgery right now, you two should get some rest, I will come back to wake you when he is out of surgery," she explained to them before she left the room.      She was still lightly sobbing as they crawled into the large hospital bed, him on his back and her crawled up against his side with her arms around him.      "Thank you again, for everything," she said as the both fell asleep.
