“Yes,” Penny answers, trying hard not to cry. She becomes embarrassed.
“f**k!” Lucas curses before trying to lift Penny from his lap.
“No, no,” Penny says, panic. “Please don’t stop. I want this. Please don’t stop just because I’m a virgin.”
Now Lucas stares at her. “Are you sure?” he asks. He’s not sure himself.
Penny nods. “Yes,” she says. “I’m sure.”
“Yeah, but you need to understand, though,” Lucas starts. “When it’s done, it’s really done. You can’t, I don’t know, have it back. It’s gone, forever. It’s permanent.”
Penny tries not to roll her eyes. “I understand, Lucas,” she says, instead. “I’m not stupid.”
“No regrets?”
“No, I promise.”
Lucas groans. “Look, Penny,” he tries again, one last time. “After this, I’m not gonna be your boyfriend or anything like that. I’m not interested in becoming anybody’s boyfriend.”
Penny nods her head. “I know,” she says fast. “I understand.”
“Do you?” Lucas pushes, still staring at her. “Do you really?”
“Yes, I do. Really,” Penny says. Lucas doesn’t look convinced so it’s time for Penny to take action. Penny starts kissing him, with vigor. She takes off her bra and guides both his hands to squeeze her bare breasts.
Lucas groans and continues squeezing her breasts. So good, Penny moans and they start grinding again. Lucas’ hands start to go down, reaching for her hips, lifting them, positioning herself on top of his erection. Her body goes down while they both continue grinding. This feels right, Lucas knows what to do.
When Lucas is inside her, she feels uncomfortable. She feels full and the pain is dull. She thought it was going to be a sharp one.
“I’m not there, yet,” Lucas tells her. “You need to go up again but not completely, and this time slam hard. I’ll guide you. If you still wanna do this.”
Penny nods. “Yes,” she says, lifting her body up, following Lucas’ instruction. Lucas grips her waist, helps her up until only the tip of her p***s is inside her, then slams hard into her. Penny screams. God, it hurts. It hurts bad. Lucas holds her tight; Penny holds him as tight. They stay like that for a while.
“We need to move now,” Lucas says. “Grind at me again. I’ll help you.”
Penny nods, sits straighter, and lets Lucas guide their movement. The pain subsides after a while, and what they’re doing starts to feel good. Then it gets even better. Then it gets even better still until Penny feels like it can get any better than that. Penny gasps, and sighs, and moans, and trembles. And just like that, she explodes. Lucas holds her tight before buckling hard a few times, then explodes himself.
And then he winks. “That was cool,” he says without care. Like a jerk.
Wow, Penny doesn’t know what to say, so she smiles. Her heart is already broken. “Yes,” she says instead.

That day…
Logan was home. This was new. It was a Saturday night. He didn’t usually home. He was usually on a date with some girl that he never mentioned the name. Although Lucas and Bruce knew but chose to pretend not to. Logan and whoever the girl was didn’t usually go to crowded places; they didn’t want anybody to see them. Still, Logan was always out on the weekends.
Now he was not. He was doing laundry. He looked pensive, and forlorn, and melancholy. What happened? Had he and Hannah broken up? Lucas didn’t know how to approach the subject. He wasn’t supposed to even know that Logan was dating Hannah.
“You’re not going out?” he asked.
“Nope,” Logan answered, not looking at him, still paying full attention to his laundry.
“Why?” Lucas asked again.
Logan didn’t immediately answer. He could continue pretending but what was the point? If Kate knew, he was sure that Lucas knew as well. He then decided to level with him. “Hannah and I, yeah, not happening anymore.”
Wow, Logan actually mentioned her name. Lucas then decided not pretend as well. “Really? Why?”
“She’s kinda seeing someone else too, aside from me.”
The answer shocked Lucas. His jaw dropped. He couldn’t believe it. Hannah seemed nice enough, she didn’t look pretentious. “How do you know that?”
“Kate told me.”
“Wait, what?” he asked. “Kate?”
“Yeah, man,” Logan answered. “That was why she was here that day. She was here the whole time comforting me. When she fell asleep, I carried her to your bed.”
God. Oh, God. Kate. And he was being a jerk by leaving her to go to Mark’s house. Now Lucas felt bad. Kate was here for Logan, helping him, caring for him. She cared. She’d always cared. Whatever she did outside in public was just pretence. She loved him. She loved his family.
“Look,” Logan started again. “Whatever fall out between you and Kate, I don’t care. But when I’m leaving for college in a couple of months, I’m inviting her to have dinner here just the four of us. Some of my friends might throw me a party or two, she won’t be invited to those. She won’t come anyway. But when there’s just us, you need to behave, okay?”
Lucas nodded. “Okay,” he said, and meant it. He then became serious. “About Hannah.”
“What about her?” Logan asked.
“What are you gonna do about her?” Lucas asked.
Logan shrugged. “She can go to hell for all I care,” he said, trying hard to sound nonchalant instead of bitter. “Forget about her, man. College is coming soon. Do you know that all this time I only have s*x with one girl? Two years, dude. f**k that! No more of this s**t!”
Lucas winced. “So, you’re planning to be a man-w***e in college?”
Logan laughed. “No, not to that extreme. I’m on scholarship, remember?” he answered. “My focus will be school and football. I’ll date here and there, but I’m not planning to be committed to anybody. That’s not gonna be in the cards now. I’m planning to go professional.”
“That’s the attitude, bro,” Lucas said, grinning. “Now you’re talking.”
And then there was that other time, a week after Logan went to college.
Lucas was waiting for his order of the Italian subs while Mark, Dion, Jessica, and Penny were waiting outside Luigi’s when he saw Hannah coming in. When she spotted him, she gave him an awkward smile.
“Hey Lucas,” she said.
“Hey yourself,” Lucas said. “Still in town?”
“I’m leaving this weekend,” Hannah answered. She then continued with a much somber voice, “How’s your brother?”
“Settling in,” Lucas answered with a shrug. “I think Indiana agrees with him.”
His answer shocked Hannah. “Indiana?”
Now Lucas was the one who was shocked. “Yes, he accepted the scholarship from Notre Dame.”
“Not USC?”
Lucas chuckled. “I don’t think he enjoys Southern California at the moment. Indiana is more his pace, the truth is.”
Hannah took time to answer, she had a tear in her eyes. She wiped it, then turned away. “I see,” she whispered.
Lucas didn’t know how to continue. He knew that Logan and Hannah broke up, but he didn’t know why. He couldn’t be too judgmental now. Hannah may not be to blame here, at least not a hundred percent. She seemed like she still loved Logan. “So, where’re you going, for college, I mean.”
All of a sudden Hannah looked shy, she turned away again. “USC,” she answered.
Oh, wow!
“I thought,” Hannah said, then stopped. “Logan and I, we’d decided on USC. But that was before…”
Lucas understood now. Hannah may have done something that ruined their relationship. But she was planning to make it up to Logan by going to the same university with him even though she might not be on a scholarship. Which was, for the Williams, wouldn’t be a problem at all. Their relationship had been a secret, but if they both went to Southern California, far away from New Jersey, then there was hope for them yet.
But Logan chose Notre Dame without even telling Hannah. And that would be the end of it for Logan and Hannah.
“I’m gonna order then, Lucas,” Hannah talked again. “Have a nice weekend, okay.”
“Yeah, you too, Hannah,” Lucas answered, but then continued, “You know what, Hannah? Let me just wait with you.”
Hannah’s eyes widened. “Yeah? You don’t have to.”
Lucas chuckled. “I know,” he answered. “I want to.”
Hannah then giggled. “Well, thank you.”
Lucas winked then squeezed her arm. “Sure.”
That was last year, now Lucas hates Chris even more. And Hannah. He hates Hannah too, now. He gave her the benefit of the doubt then because he thought that she loved Logan. Sure, she made a mistake, who doesn’t? Well, Kate made mistakes. She made a lot of them and the Jenkins had always forgiven her. Why couldn’t he do the same for Hannah? That was what he thought then. Well, none of that now.
