Sweet Dreams BarbieSierra's POV I put the key inside the lock and twisted to the left, gave it a little jingle til I heard the sound and made my way in. The cafe was peaceful and quiet. I started putting the chairs down and dust flew into the air. Ugh! Does anyone ever clean this place? I coughed a couple times but abruptly stopped when I noticed a white van pull up. Ok, I know... RED ALERT right?
"What the f**k," I muttered under my breath as I exited the cafe.
Anger filled my body as I did not want to be dealing with this in the morning. I looked at their faces as they made their way to me. My blood started to boil as they smiled at me ever so friendly. I became very irritated, they knew they shouldn't be here! Theres a f*****g sign stating, "Don't Enter," right where they f*****g entered. Typical! I became more annoyed when one of the guys introduced himself.
"Hello. My name is-"
"HI, what are you doing here? Theres 45 minutes until the stores open and nothing being dropped off or picked up or even fixed was put on the schedule. I suggest you leave," I said with a cool and undetached tone.
"Oh no worries. We just have to-"
I cut him off again,"Look, there's nothing I can do you have to go." I became bored and I was ready to go back to work when he stepped forward and someone behind me grabbed me from the back. Before I could scream a cloth made its way over my nose and mouth as I slowly lost consciousness. The last thing I saw was a latex mask, hitting the floor.
Alex's POV
I couldn't believe what I saw! Someone just hurt Sierra! My thoughts were interrupted when I heard footsteps coming my way.
I scurried behind the bush and up the wall onto the roof and hid. Hoping no one could see me and that I was out of sight. I closed my mouth shut when I realized it was still open wide. I just couldn't believe what just happened. What were they going to do to Sierra? I peeked over the ledge towards the fountain to see Sierras body on the bench.
Oh god she looked dead! But she couldn't be. She just couldn't. I recollected myself a looked back over. The bastards were hauling her body into the back of the van. I had to think quick! What would Sierra do?
My phone rang and it hit me. I swiftly pulled it out and took a quick photo of the drivers license. But to my dismay, the sound was on and one of the men heard it. My eyes opened wide and I ducked behind the ledge, praying he didn't see me.
Oh god what if he saw me? Oh this would not do! What would happen to Sierra if I got caught and I couldn't go to the police? She would die and I before her and no one would be able to do anything about it.
I shook my head dismissing the thoughts. His footsteps grew louder and I swore I heard him speak.
A bird burst through the tree startling me and the man.
He laughed, "Just a bird, all is good," I heard him say more to himself than the others.
He jogged over and ran into the front of the van and drove off. My heart was still beating against my ribcage. I prayed for her a little longer and then ran to the police station.
Sierra's POV
My body felt cold. The floor was hard and felt as if something was moving. I heard a roar of a car and I bolted up straight only to go right back down due to my throbbing head. Where was I?
"Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no no no.'
I shoved my hand down my pocket and sighed with relief. My phone was there. I unlocked my phone and saw Alex was texting me. I was about to ignore him when I read what he said.
Alex: Sierra IDK if u have your phone on u but I'm at the police station and they know u r missing and i got a picture of their license
Alex: oh and they had latex masks on, found at the scene so face recognition won't work but DNA will
I had to read it twice to understand what he was saying before I replied.
Sierra: im in the van rn don't call they might hear me. u still with the popo?
Alex: yes r u ok??
Sierra: im fine. i think im on the highway or something its kind of loud.
Alex: r there any windows
Sierra: no but theres things in here
I started to have a panic attack as my eyes analyzed everything inside the van with me.
Alex: what is it??
Sierra: theres a shovel, gloves, rake, surgical tools, duct tape, bag, hammer
Alex: Oh god r u sure ur ok
Sierra: yes just please help me
I looked away from my phone when the van started to vibrate slightly. We are on a gravel road.
Sierra: omg alex we r on a gravel road!
Alex: stay in contact with me as long as u can but hide ur phone when they get back
Sierra: ok and i think we r on a dirt road now. Like driving off somewhere
Alex: Sierra whatever u do fight. U can do this i believe in u
The car came to a halt and a lump formed in my throat. I'm going to die. This is it for me. I prepared myself for my last text.
Sierra: The car stopped. This is probably my last text ever. tell my family i love them and thx for being my friend sorry if this isn't very sincere but its rushed goodbye
Alex: what?
Alex: Sierra please answer
Alex: SIERRA
I took a deep breath and laid back down to play dead... or I guess unconscious....
Someone entered the back of the van and I took action, landing a nice right hook on his face knocking him down. I ran out but was knocked off my feet. Dirt clung to my clothes and my vision grew blurry. The sun cast a shadow off of a tree. The way the pines sparkled and slightly shivered in the wind had me mesmerized. Dirt was piling under my nails. I looked up to see a towering figure in front of me. His face was covered and he was handing money to the people who took me.
That bastard. I'll have him pay for what he's doing. I took another look at his figure. It was tall, like a stick in the ground. From my angle he looked like a bare tree. His shoulders were broad and slightly hunched. He seemed dangerous, very dangerous.
He crouched down beside me and leaned into my ear, "It's playtime," a cold menacing voice said. I couldn't believe that this man in front of me could drop down so many octaves. His voice was so calm but spat fire, and at that... I fainted.
