MCNAMARA LED A SHAKEN young man and a slightly shaken James into his office. The DS had been correct in his assumptions earlier. Indeed, the drive through Edinburgh at night, with the DCI at the wheel, had been a living nightmare. The chief had taken full advantage of the empty streets.
