CHAPTER THIRTEEN –––––––– IT WAS ALREADY PAST seven o’clock in the evening when McNamara finally parked his car in front of Bryony’s house. He noticed the move in Mrs Stevens’ window immediately. The old woman had pulled the curtain slightly aside to peek at him. It wasn’t anything new to him. It seemed that the old woman still needed to take a look at him whenever he came to visit Bryony.
