My Possessive Husband ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Writer: Luna Boluwaji ❤️💕💕💕💕 Chapter Eight In the garden, Esther hugged her grandmother tightly, tears filling her eyes. "I'll miss both of you so much," she whispered, struggling to hold back her tears. Her grandmother gently wiped away the tears from Esther's face and smiled warmly. "My child, don't be afraid," she said softly. "Face your future with courage. This will always be your home. Whenever life becomes difficult, come back to us." Her grandfather placed a loving hand on Esther's shoulder. "We'll miss you too, Esther. Promise you'll visit us often." "I promise," Esther replied with a faint smile. The driver sent by the David family carefully placed her luggage in the car before opening the back door for her. Esther took one last look at the small house that had been filled with love and beautiful memories. Slowly, she got into the car. As the vehicle pulled away, she rolled down the window and waved until her grandparents became tiny figures in the distance. Only then did she allow the tears to fall freely. She leaned her head against the window and closed her eyes. Her mind drifted back to her previous life... The betrayal. The humiliation. The pain. She slowly clenched her fists. "This time... I won't make the same mistakes." "I'll reclaim my mother's company." "I'll protect the people I love." "And no one will ever use me again." As the car sped toward the city, Esther had no idea that fate was already preparing another surprise for her. --- Somewhere in the same city... Ronald stood silently in front of the floor-to-ceiling window of his office, staring at the bustling streets below. For some reason, the stubborn girl he had met in the forest kept appearing in his thoughts. He frowned. "Why can't I stop thinking about her?" he murmured. Neither of them knew... That by this time tomorrow... Their lives would change forever. --- Several hours later... The car finally stopped in front of the David family's luxurious mansion. The security guard immediately opened the large iron gate after recognizing the driver's vehicle. As the car slowly drove inside, Esther stared at the familiar mansion. Her smile disappeared. Painful memories flooded her heart. The endless insults. The loneliness. The countless nights she cried herself to sleep. She slowly took a deep breath. "What a miserable life I lived in this place," she whispered. She looked around calmly before stepping out of the car. "But not this time." A determined smile appeared on her face. "This time, I will live for myself." "I will protect my mother's legacy." "And no one in this house will ever treat me like a servant again." With confidence, she walked toward the front door. The moment she entered the living room, she froze. Soft laughter echoed through the room. Her eyes widened in surprise. Jennifer was on the sofa with a handsome young man. The two of them quickly separated the moment they noticed someone standing at the entrance. Without making a sound, Esther quietly took out her phone. She recorded a short video before either of them realized what she was doing. "Esther!" Jennifer's face turned pale with shock. She immediately pushed the young man away. Both of them hurriedly adjusted their clothes. "You..." Jennifer glared at Esther with anger and embarrassment. Without saying another word, she grabbed the young man's hand and rushed upstairs. The living room fell silent once again. Esther looked at the video on her phone and smiled faintly. "So..." "The proud and arrogant Jennifer has a secret she desperately wants to hide." She slipped her phone back into her pocket. "This might become very useful someday." For the first time since returning to the David family, Esther felt that fate had finally given her something she could use to protect herself. She smiled confidently and walked upstairs. To be continued…
